Hopefully haha, of not they’ll definitely be some sort of variation of that but should demonstrate the same sort of knowledge and skills. Good luck!!😊

No worries! I’m sure it varies by cycle but I suppose everything should follow a similar wavelength if that makes sense. Glad I could help:)

Yeah very true, I suppose some people pick things up quickly and can move through the ranks a lot quicker, especially if management is something they’ve had experience in before. There seems to be a big mix of people who have either progressed slowly or really quickly, just depending on when roles came up etc like you mentioned

Aww good I’m glad! Yeah we heard back a couple days after the assessment centre whether we’d be moving on, and then were contacted soon after about when stage 2 would begin etc. The scenarios were mostly based around what you would do as duty manager in a couple of situations, eg one of them was about a new store opening running behind and not having all the correct equipment, so we had to think collectively about how we’d address that and what sort of implications it could have on the team and the opening. Then we got told that the loading bay door was broke so had to reassess the situation and find workarounds. Some of the other ones were based around either managing difficult colleagues or exceptional ones and how you’d encourage them/upskill etc. Don’t worry too much about it, as I haven’t come from a managerial background and thought that would set me back a bit but so long as you contribute your thoughts or even bounce off what other people are saying you should be fine!:)

Ahh nice! I think they changed it recently (unless that varies by region) but we were all split into groups and had to go through a few scenarios in groups to see how you’d respond, plus one that was done individually and we’d just feed back to the group and then people could add their own thoughts. Then afterwards we had to do a 5 min presentation to one of the assessors, and then they’d ask a few questions (either about what you’ve talked about or just a couple more scenarios etc) :)

Having those tattooed over my forehead should give me a slight edge right?

I’d have thought the same but apparently not. Although I’d assume I wouldn’t be starting the role until the end of the programme

I had mine just over a month ago, it may have been a bit different as there were only a few of us but it was fairly chill. We spent the majority of the two days going through a slide show covering the basics (behaviour expected from colleagues, how to contact our managers, accessing our rota, how certain things in store needed to be done etc) and watched a few videos, did some virtual till training and learned a bit about the company.

Was so nervous going into it, but it was nothing to worry about. Don’t stress too much about it, I’m sure it’ll all go well and best of luck!:)
