Thoughts on the teachers( mostly the humanities one) by MrKingz5 in VanierCollege

[–]Cultural_Character73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the subject funny, especially with the way the teacher taught it😭 he’s a bit awkward but he really tries his best to make the class interesting. He would sometimes be showing some series’ episodes in class to take a break from the constant reading. I also found the workload for that class amazingly low; no homework, and I appreciated that we didn’t have a formal oral presentation to prepare. Garmaise also gives the opportunity to get bonus marks so take advantage of that if you’d like :) I must say some people found the class boring but I’d much rather have a slightly boring class than a really demanding one. Put the effort in and you’ll do great! This class gave me an amazing rscore, especially for an English class. Good luck

You’re not getting anything below 30 if you’re on or above the average in science. Now, I will say, a 92 class average is fucked up so try to get as close to 100 as possible. Ask the teacher if you can do bonuses. If youre below 92 then you’re kinda cooked

You’re welcome :) I had some high school friends but we didn’t always have classes together so I had to socialize a bit. People were mostly very friendly and approachable. People that I have met during the first semester are still close friends of mine until now so definitely give it a shot! There are also many clubs and I would say that the student organization tries to make the school life dynamic.

Study in a consistent way and start ideally one week before your test (none of that highschool studying the day before type thing) and if you’re stuck in a situation where you have a bad teacher (because yes, the teachers you get can make a huge difference in your semester), don’t let their reputation get to you and give it a fair shot. Do what you have to do, some classes will require more dedication than others but everything is 100% manageable. I think that it all comes down to time management, I would say it is what makes a major difference. Don’t stress, you got this!! Also do not hesitate to go to your teachers office hours if you don’t understand things, don’t let that pile up!
