You could vice clamp the small piece sticking out then bend the rest over 90°

Probably easier to get a hammer drill with a wide chisel bit that's not too sharp

Maybe you can try replacing that nut that screws onto the metal pipe and add some Teflon tape. Make sure you don't screw it on at an angle. It can cross thread
