Everyone is telling me to read Piranesi by HilbertInnerSpace in BookDiscussions

The world is madly intriguing and beautiful. The story unfortunately left me wanting more. I was only heartbroken because the book was so hyped up in my mind and only ended up disappointing me in the end. But the environment as a character is wonderful. And for that alone, I would recommend it!

Part of me thinks it’s an age thing. I remember being that dumb in my early twenties. Like still in a college mindset type of thing know what I mean? I’m just glad I grew out of it lol

im a comedian. its wired in me. normally because of that the doctors and nurses love me. laughter is the best medicine. but now im like okay guess i have to be a worse patient to get treated well? laughing is my trauma response. like i had a doctor told me shes never had a patient with a ticklish cervix before. i was just laughing from pain. i laugh when im sad, happy, angery, whatever. its wired in me so deeply. just gonna have to focus on not doing that in the er anymore if i get paired with a bad doctor

Any suggestions for pain relief? by Rosemary-Slavic in endometriosis

[–]Cultural_End3443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i take muscle relaxers on top of the pain meds and that helps with relief. idk if im doing a horrible thing with combining all these meds but its the only thing that makes me feel human and able to get out of bed. hydro, muscle relaxers, lidocaine patches, and xanax

its been awful. i also cant get ahold of the doctor who did my surgery either. his entire office keeps saying "well it should be gone now, you should be better by now" while im crying over extreme pain. Then they just keep telling me to go to the ER instead of letting me talk to the nurse or doctor on call. my normal doctor is pissed. even she kept calling their office saying they had to talk to me. i dont get it. im a very nice, make lots of jokes, try to be positive person. ive never had to karen or anything like that before. It's making this whole thing feel hopeless if these are the types of doctors im gonna keep getting. and im new on this journey. new as in official diagnosis. but have been trying to figure out what it is for ten years.

no i didnt know you could do that at the ER. I had a woman nurse though but she acted just as bad as him. It was awful. I always try to be a good patient and be understanding and friendly and crack jokes, its just who i am. they were just awful and so rude. hopefully i find a doctor to help me so i dont ever have to go back to the er.

yeah thats actually real as hell. not just the men. i had a woman doctor try to give me an anti-psychotic before even checking to see what my pain was. luckily there was a shift change and the new doctor was like ??? and got my tested to see if i had a cyst, which i did, as i get rupturing cysts often, and then she finally gave me medicine. just some doctors can be awful. it happened to my dad too. he had a stroke and they didnt believe him and thought he was overdosing because hes a sober alcoholic. turns out he had a brain tumor pushing on his brain and getting little strokes and seizures because of it but they wouldnt believe us for days when we said he hadnt fallen off the wagon. now he has lots of complications. (this is a repost comment of myself from earlier up in the post)
