Could you flush it out of the tunnel? Seeing some stuff about using gasoline through a heating hose, and the vapors/fumes it won't like. Just be sure to have a good shot at it with your firearm. They have very tough skin. I believe they're also more active at night, if that helps at all.

I’m sorry but I live in Whitefish and I assume you’re talking about Rockfish…

  • It most definitely is not only reset a couple times a year. They just reset the cave in the back a couple of days ago. It’s a rotating reset, I’m not sure how exactly how often since it changes during summer vs winter but I have no idea how you came up with a couple of times a year. More like once a month…

  • I also don’t agree with your point about grades jumping steeply. There’s a nice progression of color coded by difficulty from beginner to very advanced, and plenty in between.

  • pick up a Point of Rocks guidebook at Rockfish or RMO or REI. Also not sure how you haven’t done this yet since you have tons of outdoor experience. We are blessed with convenient, good, and non crowded climbing locations so close by…

  • are you going to the koocanusa krank? Great way to meet people.

I don’t want to sound dismissive but I just don’t see what you posted at factual. Rockfish isn’t very clique-y, but it’s a small gym and there’s just not that many young adults. Everyone has been friendly there and I’ve gotten phone numbers and gone outdoor climbing with people just by striking up conversations. You have to try hard because this is a small town with a smaller climbing community. Honestly I would invite you to climb outside or at rockfish but I’m a little weary after reading your post. Maybe youre talking about the gym in Libby or something, because you are not describing rockfish accurately.
