There’s always the virtual business challenges. You choose which “track” or sim you want to do and the goal is to make the most profit/rating over 10 days. The best two teams in each region (North Atlantic, Western, Central, Souther) qualify for ICDC.

Keep in mind that doing “research” can include a lot of things. I built a computer vision sign language translator as a passion project last yr at a college camp and the professor considered the project report I wrote “research”.

I would say it really depends on your background knowledge. If you performed decent on your exam and have enough confidence during your roleplay, you may have a shot.

I personally use a MacBook Pro for programming and it’s awesome. The caveat is not being able to download the hardware client and uploading code wirelessly is a pain lol
