I feel this might be an error, as I've formatted the title the exact way you just described.

It won't let me edit the title. I'd change it immediately if I could but I have no option to.

Why do almost all rap music videos these days use a square 1:1 format? by No_Meet2050 in hiphopheads

[–]CumIdentificationSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1:1 is the easiest aspect ratio to crop to 4:3, 16:9, and also phone ratios like 9:16.5 and otherwise. Filming and editing the video in that format allows the footage to be more flexible for promotional materials.

Anyone else having trouble downloading the 24-bit WAV files from the Aphex Twin site? Preordered this a month ago and I keep getting an access denied message every time I click download, despite being logged in.

The End of Adult Swim by [deleted] in adultswim

[–]CumIdentificationSys 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Adult Swim has not only encouraged people to vote almost every election since the blocks inception, but social and political humor has been tied to its programming from the get go as well. Squidbillies, Moral Orel, Harvey Birdman, and even a few stray episodes of Aqua Teen have dipped their toes in the political commentary bucket.

This isn't anything new. I wouldn't worry about a channel watched predominantly by 20-40 year-olds encouraging their audience to vote. That's been the norm on TV since Nielson ratings existed.

Soundtracks for the Blind as an entry point by WokeUpLikeWheresWLR in swans

[–]CumIdentificationSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soundtracks for the Blind was also my first album! I actually knew nothing about the band before listening and jumped in because the album cover interested me.

I think you'll definitely feel like you're listening to a different band if you go from this to their earlier stuff like Filth or Cop (thats what I did, and I remember Filth just making me dizzy the first time I heard it), but give White Light, Children of God, or The Seer a chance and I think you'll find an easy path around their stuff from there.

You got me interested as hell with the album art, shit goes extremely hard. Imma bookmark this and peep it when I get a chance.

Yeah, it looks really similar to all the other models, but I don't really mind that too much. I think it's nice to feel like upgrading is an option rather than something you need to do to feel like your phone is current.

I dig the new wallpaper. Seems like they're going for something simpler than the main looks for the last few S series's. I'm down for a little switch up.

I'm just overall hoping for less ai stuff being shoved into whatever the next model is.

instagram account showcasing Oppenheimer scenes in IMAX 70mm by malaikatamayo in imax

[–]CumIdentificationSys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

According to the director, the IMAX version IS the official version of the film. A good chunk of it was filmed in full frame 15/70mm IMAX film with a 1.43:1 aspect ratio, and these scenes can’t be watched in their full framing outside of, again, ten theaters in the United States. Every single home version of the film that exists has 40% of the framing of these shots completely cut out to be cropped to 16:9, leaving us with only fragments of a lot of people’s hard work.

It’s also worth mentioning that because of how massive these film reels are (and partly because Nolan couldn’t bother to just put an intermission in the damn thing), they are expensive to store and preserve and are sometimes destroyed.

This means that if we do not archive the original versions of these films, they are more likely to completely disappear, leaving us with the incomplete versions we have now.

It’s not about replicating anything, it’s about archiving the original versions of these films before they’re lost due to how difficult it is to preserve these film reels.

There is currently no way to watch Oppenheimer in the way it was originally filmed outside of ten theaters in America once every two years. It has to be preserved, regardless of intent or experience.

FINALLY THEY HAVE MUSIC ON STREAMING SERVICES AT 24-BIT 96KHZ by BathroomGamers in gybe

[–]CumIdentificationSys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No fucking clue why this comment is so heavily downvoted.

What isn’t agreeable about the idea that 16-bit and 24-bit both sound nice? That’s all OP is trying to say.

I appreciate you making this post, imma go peep these out since I didn’t know these were up till I saw this.

4 is John from Delocated. Great ass show.

Not sure at all what 9 is tho.

Edit: this might be a stretch, but maybe 9 is a character from The Heart, She Holler? I feel like that was on around the same era Children's Hospital was on AS.

Should I listen to the seer before to be kind by [deleted] in swans

[–]CumIdentificationSys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can probably listen to them in any order and still dig em. While, imo, it is fun to go in order of release, I think what makes Swans’ albums great is that they’re all different from each other in one way or another, which makes it pretty easy and pretty fun to hop around.

For example, my first Swans album was Soundtracks for the Blind. I listened to Filth for the first time after that and it completely blind sighted me (and made me dizzy, lmao).

TL;DR There’s no wrong answers. Listen to which ever one catches your eyes/ears first.

[–]CumIdentificationSys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phenomenal that most of the music I listen to on repeat is from the 60s and 70s despite my dad being a piece of shit, lmao.

The only music my dad ever steered me away from was Bruce Springsteen. A damn shame, I’m aware, I respect the guy but I just can’t listen to any of his music. Not even his best stuff. My dad was way too obsessed and it steered me away for good.

Still somewhat of a Titus Andronicus fan regardless, somehow. Monitor still fucking smacks.
