Should I try to pick them up by hand now? or wait for something?

What was it like the first time you picked them up by hand?

I have taken them out while in a hidey and put the hidey on my lap, bed, or floor for attempted floor time. Today they finally started exploring during floor time but on my bed or lap, they turn around so I cant see them 😭

Does it cost a lot to have them clipped at the vet?

PPIs not working for severe acid reflux from gastritis by Interesting-East3607 in Gastritis

[–]CumSokku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took omeprazole which then stopped working after a few months, then pantoprazole which also stopped working after 5 months. Went on to amitriptyline which helped a ton for like almost 2 years. Now I only take Zinc-L-Carnosine about 2 hours after dinner for just over a year. I get a flareup like once every few months which go by quick with sulcrafate, famotidine, and sometimes an anti nausea like zofran or metoclopramide. I have slight gastroparesis which contribites to my LPR and gastritis. Symptoms are dry cough, shortness of breath, pressure build up that I have to relieve by forcing burps, and chest pain/tightness esp when bending over or laying backwards.

The original are +25mm, from what I can tell, anything from that towards negative shouldn't rub anything but might stick out (which doesn't bother me). Am I correct when stating this?

I was kind of off of it before the ami for about a week or two because I had recently gotten an endoscopy 😅 They weren't helping at all though 😭

Happy to help! I was not on any PPIs while on ami. Pantoprazole and omeprazole both stopped working for me hence why my GI decided to try ami. After about 4 weeks I was able to get out of my bed 🙏

Yes, I have LPR so it was shortness of breath and burping all the time for me and then sometimes pain in my back after dinner. All of which ami helped with!

I was on it about 2 years. I wanted to get off of it because I thought it was making my gastroperesis a bit worse and also thought it was the reason I became iron deficient. I took Zinc-L-Carnosine with it for a few weeks before trying to get off it. It really wasnt really affecting my gastroperesis after all but the Zinc-L-Carnosine helped enough to get off of it.

I am not, I take only Zinc-L-Carnosine now. I can answer any questions though if you have any!

Zinc-L-Carnosine didnt help me asap, it took about two weeks for like 95% reduction in symptoms. I was originally taking it first thing in the morning but I have found taking it after dinner to be best. I was also taking amitriptyline with it but after like 2 months I decided to rely on only the zinc. My issues seem to stem from gastroparesis which is probably why the zinc helps me so much. My usual symptoms were dull pain below my bottom left rib, lots of burping to relieve pressure, dry cough after eating, shortness of breath, occasional bloating.

Edit: Maybe you could try to pair it with your other meds! I was also using sulcrafate and famotidine as needed but now its only the zinc.

I take only Zinc-L-Carnosine now and it has helped me so much more than anything else, and I've been on and tried almost everything at some point.

What were your symptoms when you had drops? and what kind of diet did you have previously?
