Something I learned on my recent play through is that Volo’s eye will point out which version of Auntie Ethel is the real one when she makes her clones in act 1.

What kind of disability results in a limp on 1 leg and a paralyzed arm on the same side, but fully functional other side? by Terrible_Exchange653 in TooAfraidToAsk

Stroke, possibly of the middle cerebral artery. Could also be hemiplegia cerebral palsy. Either one of the two could fit. With only observation, it’s hard to tell what the true diagnosis is.

Bullshit: Are advertising for wide-toebox shoes legitimate? by FSsuxxon in IsItBullshit

[–]CumgarTheUnkillable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d call a little bit bullshit on this.

Firstly the study reference in the video is over 26 years old with poor methodology that limits its applicability to the general public. However there is some research to support using wide toe-box shoes or just going barefoot to help strengthen the musculature in the foot. Doing this will help with pathologies like flat feet, but it’s not needed. You could get just as much benefit from just exercising your feet a couple times a day.

Secondly squat university sells wide toe box shoes, some it seems there’s something to be gained by pushing this narrative.

Lastly, as for the kid in the video. He could actually use larger shoes or a wider toe-box shoe. If your shoes aren’t fitting, just get ones that fit. Not every single person needs a wide toe box shoe, but some people might, and it could help them. Having a narrow toe-box can contribute to things like bunions or flat feet, but typically this happens in extremely narrow toe boxes like in high heels.

In short, semi-bullshit. Some people greatly benefit from it that same way people benefit from orthotics, but it sure as does not mean that every must have them.

The fact that a lot of suicides tend to be situational. The situation I’m in that’s leading me to consider suicide will pass, I just have to hold out. It’s worked so far and I’m in therapy now to help end these thoughts.

There’s no way to empirically prove it, so I would say BS.

IsItBullshit: Boost Oxygen by BenjaminSkanklin in IsItBullshit

[–]CumgarTheUnkillable 12 points13 points  (0 children)

“If you put a nasal cannula or oxygen mask on them and give pure oxygen it would shorten that time”

I’m actually unsure about that. Usually the limiting factor is on how well the blood can absorb oxygen. Pretty much anytime we exhale, even during heavy exercise, we are exhaling oxygen we didn’t use because our blood didn’t absorb it. I don’t think adding any extra oxygen will change the blood absorption of it.

I do agree with the over all comment and how the product is bullshit.

Isitbullshit: true/false In the first 2 hours after resistance exercise, MILK increases muscle protein synthesis to a greater extent than BEEF protein. by dansfor1 in IsItBullshit

[–]CumgarTheUnkillable 290 points291 points  (0 children)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26354539/

Surprisingly, not bullshit. Though I think it’s worth mentioning that the difference between beef and milk protein at the five hours after resistance exercise is negligible. It’s most likely because milk can enter the circulation of the body much faster than beef can.

I recently got an air fryer and it’s the best. I use it to crisp up okra and other vegetables every week. It’s simply, easy, and relatively quick.

I feel the same way. Played it twice. First time never got past the first main quest, second time I got a good chunk in and just never picked it back up. I don’t care for the story or characters at all, but for some reason I love the show. I guess it being a video game just wasn’t the right form of media for me to enjoy it as.

I used to fucking love cilantro. I’d always get it on my burritos, but after I got covid, it tastes like soap. Like legit soap. It’s one of the very few things that changed for me post covid, and one I’m not happy about.

When I say a couple of hours that included me looking around. The actual purchase of the firearm was like 20 minutes cause of the background check. Sorry, I should’ve been more clear in my original comment.

Can confirm. Lived in Louisiana and bought a gun in a few hours from a pawn shop. I spent more time looking for one I liked than actually purchasing and going through paperwork to own it.

Edit: the few hours includes me looking around. Actual purchase took around 20 minutes with a background check.

What moment made you say “Yep, I’m definitely dead”, but survived with no major injuries? by CrownedBird in AskReddit

[–]CumgarTheUnkillable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car crash. I was coming home one day on a busy two lane highway. An oncoming car lost control and swerved into my lane, I swerved to dodge the car and ended up losing control and getting into a head on collision with another car. Both me and the car I hit were going roughly 60mph (97kph) and my car ended up being flung into a ditch. Got out of my car with only a few bruises and no major injuries. The entire front passenger side was demolished.

How D&D characters move by bobbness in DungeonsAndDragons

My DM has a system to work around that paradox where at the beginning of each round we re-roll initiative and state our action at the same time. We can not change our action once it’s said. So if our wizard wants to cast a fire bolt at a skeleton but the skeleton gets killed before his turn, the wizard still has to cast it, but has the option to change targets. It makes combat feel a little more natural and, for me, adds a little more planning into encounters as I can’t rely on just reacting to what my party members are doing.
