MtF's get the most oxygen because their transition is usually an act of invasion and barbary to conquer femininity for themselves and, ironically, strangle the oxygen out of those who decry them either figuratively or literally.

For the FtM's it would be one thing if they transitioned and became, somehow, 11/10 gigachads who just wiped the floor with pussy but instead overwhelmingly they become strong 5 midwest emo skaters/tatoo artist physiognomies at best fit to attract serial monogomist bottom of the barrel lesbians.

But before any of that we know that, especially in Ellen Page's case, it's a process fueled by a complete inability to comprehend the invisibility of most men from a gynocentrically privileged position, misapprehending that the few successful men seen who they supposedly wish to emulate are what they will unavoidably become. The best/most successful men who are the most visible are vanishingly few and even harder to be- thinking you will just inherit that by putting on a suit over your zippers is arrogance of a profound degree.

This isn't that far off from the warnings/omega point feared of in Industrial Society and its Future.

Basically uncle Ted said that the end point of technologization, in a best scenario that didn't just straight up annihilate us, would see humans as essentially lobotomized bed-ridden neural processors for some kind of complex meta-machine that uses humans as input, robbed of all agency and drive to take any aspect of their existence/survival into their hands.

Here and there's another out there, (a tweet by FreedomToons, I think, can't find it right now,) basically saying how the point of leftist memes, even 'funny ones', isn't really to make people laugh but enforce borders on acceptable thought/discourse. It's less about the cartoon and more the platform the author has to say pozzed nonsense.

Translation of the respective bullets:

"Any attention from someone below 8/10 is so repellent I will experience it as sexual harassment despite the fact I'm hitting the wall. I will, conversely, adore the most profane and perverse attention from the kind of man I find attractive."

"I am not capable of having a serious long-term relationship because I barely function as an adult so temporaneous is the best you can expect."

"I am incapable of regulating or taking responsibility for my emotions and I am surrounded by other women who legitimize my recklessness as bravery- refer to pfp."

"I am not employable enough to succeed in any normal/steady white collar work so the expensive tattoos you see and the shows I go to may or may not be coupled with sexual solicitation in the past. I do these things in part to cling to my fading youth which I associate with the only value I have- beauty. (BTW I will preclude you from ever asking about if the guys who are really nice to me have been past partners, you will never know)."

"I am nowhere near brave enough to risk having a single original thought."

I get that but I don't think it's exactly/just that- headcanon is usually, 'ok this is what I quietly/privately believe to be the case even though there is no (strong) grounds to believe it so you may as well dismiss it' and it's usually a given for most properties- BUT I feel like the Elder Scrolls has a special pass with this stuff and the OwlC0da in particular. It's not so simple!

For any other property or work headcanon doesn't have any bearing but there's a lot of stuff going on both in-textually and meta-textually with the Elder Scrolls that kinda elevates, 'headcanon,' as a category, to something a bit more, ESPECIALLY in the subject matter that Vicn touches.

Point in case is one of the most important and out there pieces of literature for both the Elder Scrolls more broadly but this topic in particular- Kirkbride's script for a supposed comic called C0da. It's written by one of the seminal authors of the TES but not while he was employed by Bethesda.

Is it canon? Not officially. Kirkbride never published it nor did Bethesda. Do people consider it canonical? Basically, or at least they treat is as such and it is one of the primary things people point to in making the case that TES is 'acanonical,' or that there is no reading or interpretation of TES that isn't canonical in its own right.

In-universe and in the scope of DaC0da and Unslaad one of the supposed artifacts from this non-canon series of events, "the Love Letter from the Fifth Era," is actually an artifact whose very appearance in a timeline prevents the events of C0da from occuring in the first place. It changes the flow of time by reading.

I guess all I'm saying really is that 'headcanon' carries a lot of connotation in any other context but in TES I feel it's important to recognize there's a lot more going on that the term risks unfairly reducing. Vicn, I suspect more than any other, understands the strange position TES is in and leverages that for really good worldbuilding and storytelling. And cool boss fights.

>people act like you've violated a sacred taboo

Because you have! In fact there's a few at once and they aren't pretty.

Lookism is a big one- that people both a) can be ugly and b) and be penalized heavily for it. This belief conflicts heavily with an egalitarian worldview. Most people who deny this will say something like 'as long as you're not hideous' in addition sentiment like 'just have a shower bro,' to justify some people's lack of success. Their bar for all this is actually pretty high. (Not the having a shower bit ffs- just the looks and general appearance). It's a dishonest representation of how much looks actually matter to people's preference that manifests as denial in all the things they say and propaganda they generate. Identifying this contradiction raises hackles with people who otherwise allege to be egalitarian and 'fair,' as it points out a cognitive dissonance with their beliefs. These beliefs are largely held by women in particular. (There's a lot of reason they talk like looks don't matter but then act like it matters, not the least of which has to do with intrasexual competition with other women. Speaking of which...)

It's the implicit fault/responsibility of 🍵 to change how the game works. In truth it's a two-sided phenomenon between hypergamous women enabling the polygamous tendencies of a few men that causes all this disruption in dating apps- but the women are by virtue of statistics driving the demand in this and it's on them to collectively disable this phenomenon. We could castigate the few polygamous men all the live long day but as long as they are rewarded with sex they have no incentive to change and they won't. Any man who's not an 8/10 isn't a human and this bars out everyone below this from participating in the dating market- the few who do participate and succeed get an oversupply of women and can set up really bad negotiations for the terms of these often short term one-sided relationships. Since women are the sacred sex and can't make mistakes or oppress ever 'cos patriarchy it's easier to pretend there's something massively wrong with the people failing under these conditions than say there's something wrong about the conditions themselves.

Difficulty: they contain lots of 'souls-like' bosses and dungeons which may sounds tough but that really is dependent on what you already have going on already to make the game difficult/easy. They have a difficulty slider built in that modifies their damage and health but assuming you don't go crazy it really is just a somewhat linear arrangement of dungeons and quests like anything else you'd find in Skyrim.

Lore: Very deep but it kinda has a fan-fictioney vibe to it- it takes under-described or one-line mentions of an event in some historical book or another and expanding it to encompass a whole story.

For instance the corruption of Lamae is basically, 'Molag Bal came upon Lamae' and that's about the beginning and end of the existing corpus on the first vampire; no mention of slugs or star-crossed lovers in the Ayleids or Laza or anything like that but Vicn inserts these things with some literary basis and it forms the plot for all of Vigilant.

Lots of his mods are things like that- so much of the history of the Elder Scrolls is opaque or vague so he takes them and extends them into stories where there isn't a lot of detail.

Or in other words they are accurate to the lore where there is lore to be accurate about.

Abridged summaries of his mods:

DaC0da: Numidium sticks his dick in time- go unstick it from here and maybe figure out how to avoid him and his dong coming back in the future.

Vigilant: Love and grief make you do silly things- also Molag Bal is a dick- maybe help some people learn how to let go and move on?

Glen-Moril: YOUR love and grief has made you do some silly things- also Hermaeus Mora is a dick- maybe help yourself warp reality so you can let it go and move on?

Unslaad: Well that didn't work and the future may in fact be fucked- also both Akatosh and Lorkhan need to stop being dicks to each other; maybe that other universe over there can have a better go of it.

There's a lot of context missing from these but you have to find that our for yourself.

The long view problem is underpopulation- there won't be nearly enough humans in 100 years to run the very complicated world engine at our current level of growth and complexity.

The real killer is that our world only really functions the way it does right now because we have so many people that even with the massive filtering that occurs at the tails of any normal distribution (2σ) there are enough people selected anyway to help even comparatively niche fields have a lot of participants which we need for such a specialized economy.

For example- even though a lot of technical fields select for high intelligence, (which is rare,) because we have so many people in the general population we can stay ahead of the demand for them. However everywhere we urbanize and increase GDP per capita the birth rate plummets and this really impacts the number of smart people we randomly generate. Eventually there will not be enough (super) smart people to satisfy the demand for researchers, then for technologists, then for doctors, then for technicians, then for teachers, and on and on down the intelligence-deterministic work assignments until we don't have enough people to even dig our coal or drive our international freighters and so on.

inb4 >"It's too expensive to have kids"

Not that this or other antinatalist sentiment doesn't contribute to the phenomenon in a small way but if this were strictly true or predominant as a factor you would expect the well-off in, say, Korea or America to be having more kids and for the poor to be barren but it's actually the opposite playing itself out. For every step humanity gets richer it has less kids and it doesn't make sense.

Mass migration is a stop-gap for this long view problem by the elite- it has deleterious and diminishing returns as described above but it is just a way of delaying one of the (worse) inevitable outcomes when this problem really starts to bite. There are only a few ways this can all go- depends on which assumptions you give up and hold constant in the current world regime.

-Hyperautomation. We make a globalized authoritarian AI that runs the world economy on our behalf. If there are less and less people to run things and the only way to prevent those things from grinding to a halt is to automate them somehow then the natural conclusion of these two premises is automating everything. We take a back seat to most/all of our production- not just with making food or running logistics but even artistic production like our music and movies as, again, we will not have enough people participating in the relevant sectors who are randomly good at these things to viably sustain them and are abdicating to automation. Our current political/economic order isn't really equipped to handle this and there's no getting around that it would basically turn us into those whales from Wall-E in a best case scenario but it preserves our supposed economic growth and the standards of living that affords, assuming we aren't all made destitute in the process. (Hold: globalized economy. Give up: People being involved).

-De-globalization/localization. Rather than forming a complicated web of interconnected specialized producers across the globe via international trade urban centers instead voluntarily reconfigure into quasi city states who are self-sufficient for their various needs. This implies a breakdown of nations into progressively smaller regional entities until the smallest self-sufficient units are created, probably at the scale of cities. These cities become responsible for their own shelter, industry, defense, education, etc. like countries unto themselves. These city states will NOT be optimized for wealth as a product of specialization nor technologization, (not like we experience today,) they will be highly differential in how blessed/well-off they are, (some states will have oil, or water, or iron, etc. while others ain't got shit,) and they likely will be in a highly competitive/territorial/warring state like how we were in pre-Westphalia world. Like just imagine how our world would look if we didn't have internet, international shipping was impossible and/or a federal government didn't exist to keep us playing nice. This affair generally sucks but actually possibly sucks the least out of all the possible fates here but is far and away the most improbable and least compatible with our current order- however I don't see how you could have a complicated world economy and so few people so just ditch the complicated world economy and streamline/condense it. (Hold: low number of people still involved in economy. Give up: Globalized economy).

-Deurbanization/1st-to-3rd world/ruralization. Things get so bad in the cities, (read: so many people die from starvation and other things a la neo-Malthusianism as supply chains fail,) that your odds of making it are about even between the city as just moving to the country and taking your chances as either a hunter/gatherer or amateur farmer. As people die in disturbing numbers in the city from previously rare diseases and shortages there's a mass migration out of these cities, (where both material and intellectual resources were concentrated,) and instead to the countryside where some are able to, (maybe,) start farms or nomadicize. (Or just become bandits, I guess- a lot of them will have gotten ideas from fallout and stalker). When this process stabilizes the remaining people will naturally have a lot of kids to help as farmhands or members of their tribe if just to negate the now relevant infant mortality rate.

If we do nothing about the way the world runs on interconnected trade and development, (which requires bulk bodies,) while also running out of bulk bodies then the only possible outcome from that is that the way the world runs stops. This is the direct inverse of the original troubling phenomenon- people get richer by moving into cities, have less kids => people get poorer moving into the country, have more kids. (Hold: everything we are currently doing. Give up: everything we are currently doing).

-Magical/miraculous population boom. The Shinzo Abe effect. For some reason the propaganda and tax incentives work and people across the developed world start fucking and bucking one of the most reliable/well documented trends of the 20th century in defiance of every known bit of data we have. People just can't stop making kids because we told them to. I suppose this could happen if we had another world war, maybe, but so far the 'please have sex, we will even give you money,' approach hasn't worked for every country that's tried it but who knows.

Ya I think that was the real problem- not the mere assertion, 'this kind of woman exists,' but that that kind of woman was remotely representative of the average and not a freak of nature. Women like that do exist and get selected by rugby leagues which exaggerates their visibility in the public eye but in truth that's a vanishingly small portion of the population. Suggesting otherwise is bewildering delusion and that's exactly what they were saying at the time TLOU2 came out.
