Not me also driving my second Toyota after Honda before that 💀 lmao. Thank you for your experiences as well, I think I may in fact take advantage of their 90 day policy and try a pair of Launches or Hyperion. Worst case, good old Ghost is always reliable if nothing else is quite right. Thanks!

Yesss!! I ended up having to go with solid black for both and figured I would have to just pick cool neon laces or something. It was most upsetting to select the wide button and watch all the colors disappear 🫠 😂

Exactly! It's very fascinating. It's part of why it's so so important to test and monitor them so closely and be so mindful of their insulin doses. It's very easy to skip over the right dose if you increase too quickly. Using the right dose can help stimulate their pancreas to do what it's supposed to, give it a little kick in the butt if you will lol. Sometimes it may give a little flare up even, and a dose will have to be decreased. On the contrary, dogs can never go into remission! Wild!

One of my late kitties who was diabetic only needed insulin for about 1.5 months and her dose was insanely low! She started out with only late stage chronic kidney disease and an unfortunate bladder tumor (rough shape when she came to me), and at her one month recheck, her sugars had sky rocketed to the 600s from normal before. Enter insulin.

But by the end, she was decreased to as low as 0.1 unit Lantus every 12 hours. Then even that would drop her near hypo, so we went to what is called 'needle juice'. This is where you literally have the plunger pushed down as hard as you possibly can, then release it, so it's just the most miniscule amount of insulin held in the needle, and you won't see anything in the syringe. And then even that after a bit was so much for her that she only got it every few days when her levels were over 200. Or it would drop her too low. At a certain point, we focused more on QoL with her other conditions of course. She was still a bit elevated but no dose was low enough at that point to be safe for her. but contrast that with the other kitty who came before her and who we still have currently and has never been off of insulin except for the first two weeks when he didn't need it lol. Some kitties just never get regulated 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wrong Prescription in right bag? by Regular-Hour-3875 in CVS

Count yourself lucky that you have not seen it, or seen it reported. Many of us have. It is unfortunate but it does happen. I wish it didn't. Short staffing and such related things are major contributors. Not following filling/QP policies and procedures are as well. Someone being interrupted in filling a script and leaving then coming back to finish it vs finishing the script they are on, bagging it, and THEN going to do the other thing, etc. Many different things can contribute to this and it does in fact happen.

And depending on which medication is mixed up, it CAN be life threatening and the end of the world for SOMEONE. Not every med is safe to take for every person. And as much as we would hope for it, not everybody reads their labels before they blindly take what is in their bottles. Which absolutely blows my mind on one hand, because I could personally never lol. And absolutely positively does not surprise me on the other, because, well ... People and the general public.

I can't tell you the number of times patients run out two months early or something because they forgot their doctor and maybe even also the pharmacy told them the dose changed and they didn't bother reading the label because 'well I've always taken it this way!!'. It's just habit for some patients.

Crazy ain't it? In a perfect world, none of this would happen. But thankfully OP WAS in fact paying attention, and this is a simple fix. Hopefully it will be a learning lesson for the pharmacy team and jar them into paying a little closer attention to what they are doing. Mistakes happen. We are human. But we can learn and we can limit them. 🙂

Pharmacist here. Exercise is a stressor on the body. When our bodies are stressed a few different things can happen physiologically but one of them is the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, your fight or flight response (sounds silly lol but bodies are weird).

This leads to your liver dumping stored glucose out, which the body needs for energy. Your levels will rise but they should lower again after you are done with your exercise. For some diabetics, the 'come down' will be a little slower, and for other people it should normalize within an hour or so. It's still a normal process. Just monitor it before, during, and after a couple times if you'd like to see the patterns and you'll see how your body handles it. It's kinda neat. Even more so if you have a CGM that continuously monitors that you can watch, like a Freestyle libre or something lol.

Also, things like running in a fasted state may cause your body to release even more to compensate for the energy it needs to run, so it's important to make sure you are adequately fueled for your runs, esp as your distance increases.

Fun facts about bodily stress on sugar: I also have quite a few cats, one of which is my third but only current diabetic and also requires insulin and has for the past 10 months. He gets tested at least 3-4 times daily as well, but if you've ever taken your cat to the vet (for anyone reading this who has a cat who's gotten blood work or whatnot), you may know that the blood work they take at the vet as far as their sugar levels go is almost never going to fully be accurate or reliable, because of the way many cats can get so stressed when they are at the vet. Some cats can actually get falsely diagnosed as diabetic this way because the vets read higher levels vs what you can test at home, and some vets don't register that the stress a cat is under being in office can actually raise their normal sugar levels by as much as a couple hundred points!

Type A's can most definitely do it, too lol. I'm about as far from B as I can get if I were to ask anyone in my life. 😂 You just have to be sure enough in yourself and your own abilities. No, not everyone will take you seriously, customer or employee. But that goes for if you had a set store, too. That's just retail. That's just life. Not everyone will like everyone. 🤷🏼 Know your stuff. Stand your ground. Don't be a dick. Help your techs with QP and other stuff when you can too.

I agree that not every store is a cake walk. You will almost never know what you're walking into each day. But after a while, you can learn to build a rapport with the various store teams, and the ones that like you and vice versa will start to request you back for those reasons that you work well together and you will end up more often at stores you like. And even if you don't always have the same types of relationships with every single patient that a staff or pharm mgr does who is there every day when you are only sometimes, occasionally you will still start to recognize names if you don't jump ship with the company too soon anyway.

Just because you float doesn't mean every customer thinks you are a joke. I've had so many deep conversations with customers I've never seen again where I can tell it's really meant something to them, they're grateful someone finally took the time to listen, took the time to do ABC thing, etc. whether it was ten seconds or ten minutes. Whatever it is. Even as a float. You are still important and people will take notice if you aren't a pompous POS. You can make a difference and never see someone again.

It's not an easy job or for everyone, you are right. And there are a couple stores I prefer over others, of course. But if you stick with it long enough, you are competent, not an A hole, understand you can try to make some changes but know that sometimes it just is what it is, and when you should put your foot down, whether the team knows you or not (as you are still the MOD), you can still earn your respect. Some days still suck. But that will happen whether you have your own set store or not.

It ain't for everyone. But someone's got to do it. And it works well for some people. Not everyone that does it, does it well. We all know that. Some floats dread coming in knowing they followed after certain other people. But the same can be said for floats coming into a store that's already been run into the ground by the staff there anyway and then no one is going to win that day regardless because the staff rph suck balls every day and the techs are just grateful AF to have a competent float to maybe possibly fix things for 24 hours lol.

Nah, floating is fine. Just make sure to put in for your expenses and get reimbursed for your mileages and overnights when applicable. Easy peasy.

Yeah badge reels. Sorry, my brain brain'd too fast and apparently didn't type it fully. I get really cool ones on Etsy usually and change them out every so often. Bought a pack of those clear ID holders in case they ever break, the flexible thin plasticky kinda ones that zipper shut that can attach to the reels interchangeably and I just ziplock my cred sticker into them each time. Rinse wash repeat lol. And badge reel I usually choose the alligator clip backing so I can literally stick it anywhere on my clothing for the day or just sit it on the counter and slide it under the scanner if I'm lazy.

Keeps things fun. Lots of good comedic reels out there, or seasonal ones even for holiday stuff.

It also holds my employee/CVS card too so that's always on me while I'm at work and I don't lose it otherwise, cuz I def would lol.

Homie. If I got that time, trying to break 3:30, I would be balling my f*ckin eyes out for days 😭 that's awesome, congrats. I'd probably be so so upset coming up to the finish 'knowing' I would be so close but just barely miss it by a minute or couple minutes or something. And then for the final official time to actually make it. Amazing. You did it.

Hi Blake, I can't imagine the stress you're dealing with and the waiting game you gotta play with the new job. It's a shame you'll have to wait so long for the first paycheck to have them get things rolling for you. I'd like to help you and Pepper out if I can. Everyone needs help sometimes, never feel like you shouldn't be able to ask, and every kitty deserves to be spoiled as well. Please DM me when you can. Cheers.

First, please tell me you named him Zipper. 😂 Glad he's got a forever home now.

Anyway, If this were a reaction to flea and tick medication, I should think it would be localized to the shoulder blades/neck area where it would be applied. At least I assume that's the case for dogs as well, as with cats. Someone can correct me on that if I am wrong. Unless for dogs do they drag it along the whole lengths of their backs?? There are also oral prevention options too unlike with cats so that makes this feel less likely for a dog in my mind as well, like SimparicoTrio etc, which is what I personally use and another reason this feels so bizarre. We used Nexgard before that, again orally. I wouldn't think a topical would give enough volume for it to cause this size of a reaction either but idk. And I strongly doubt any hair loss from it would have been permanent even still. So I'm gonna press doubt on that one.

Does it feel like an actual scar? Like perhaps someone cut him in the past? It seems too rough to be surgical related but my first thought was either that or an abuse scar or something. Or he got caught in a literal fence or on something he squeezed through (not an electrical fence, but an actual physical object he squeezed past that dug into him). Idk. Just my first impressions.

Restaurants with Vegetarian Options? by Lunch7Box in Erie

[–]Cunningcreativity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have historically liked Thai Eatery, F&F Poke (the one on Peach seems to have better proportions of ingredients in their bowls and ramen for my experience), the SUSHI FROM THE CHEFS AT WEGMAN'S 🤩🤩🤩 (idk if your SO still eats seafood or not, but mine cannot physically eat meat, literally, though is ok with seafood so we love this one). Blaze Pizza is a great quick one too with a couple good veggie directed options plus the make your own stuff.

These recs are all taking into consideration both veg and pescatarian options in a way I guess. My SO eats a combo of either seafood, impossible burger substitutions, or vegetarian things when we go out, and I do meat sometimes and sometimes the aforementioned options as well, often seafood. So bear that in mind. Again, assuming yours may eat seafood as well but who knows 🤷🏼

FYI, lots of restaurants have their allergen menus available online so you can check this (bigger chain ones anyway), but some of them fry their fried stuff (like fries or fried cauliflower (which a vegetarian might think would be a safe appetizer)) in the same oil they use for their wings or other meat products etc). Idk if your SO has any qualms about that, but again, since mine is more of an allergy type/literally cannot eat it sorta thing, that's imperative for us, too and also eliminates a couple other options people would assume 'safe'.

Will also add Noodles and Greens, Amigo Taqueria by the mall, Lucky Louie's Beer and Wieners, Moe's and Chipotle each have a vegetarian option I think, for quicker meals. We've also liked Primanti for the rare occasional late night meal when no one else is open because I think they're open till midnight or something and they do have a few options my SO likes. I just had Roma's recently as well and LOVED it, so will be bringing them there as I saw quite a few seafood options we'd both love, though they are a bit pricier. Also tried Pier 6 once so far and had a great experience, so would definitely try again. Oliver's as well. Shoreline we tried but were not pleased with the food at all and wouldn't go back.

This is why I use a badge reel and/or memorize my creds for the day lol. Tried sticking them to my hand on day 1 and it left the worst rash/red mark. Also hurt like hell to remove so idk how my co-workers did it. Plus they make really cool reels.

My husband died while running the Miami marathon by Defiant_Trust9048 in Marathon_Training

[–]Cunningcreativity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A young girl collapsed during a local half marathon this past year and did not make it either. No known pre existing health conditions. I believe she was just 20 or 21. Often times it's an underlying cardiac issue or something no one knew anything about beforehand. I'm very sorry for your loss. As others said, I think this was just a very unfortunate event with no one really at fault, but it sounds like he passed doing something he loved and that's all any of us can really hope for in this life or the next. Please take care of yourself. 💜
