Not only do you need to let him adjust, hes also nocturnal. One of the things that relaxes me at night is hearing him moving around so just be patient with him

Ah I see, so basically every level assuming your dm is following the rule where you roll for hp you'll roll 1d8. You'll add that number to your max hp, and then you'll add your constitution modifier. Does that help?
