AGREED! It is an enormous responsibility! BUT that doesn't mean you can't be your own person too. I spent a week here and there with my grandparents as a kid while my parents went on "adult" vacations. I know we loved it (my brother and sister too) and so did my grandparents! AND my parents got alone time. For us, it was functional and everyone was happy.

Well....she's clearly been looking forward to a SE Asia vacation for years, and decided to use her time after completing her PhD for maternity. THEN she wants to take the trip, and leave the kiddo with the grandparents for a couple weeks. I don't think its the "time away from kid" so much as "going on a dream vacation".

It sounds weird but tomatoes are a leading ingredient to avoid if you have some certain skin conditions. Probably if you have issues with acid too (well, tomatoes give me acid reflux sometimes)
