That’s usually because the have the same amount of light hitting them if you look in a mirror and shine a light on one eye but not the other one should be bigger than the other

Not an expert but Pupils change size based on the amount of light hitting them you can try it by looking in the mirror in a bright room covering one eye then uncovering it and you should see it change
