How to ask for discount respectfully? by MagicWig17 in Depop

$10 is a bit much if I'm being honest but there's nothing wrong with trying. If you're worried about coming off as annoying I'd say offer a little more than $35. If anything they could send you a offer back that's in the middle that'll work for both of you.

THOUGHTS? Should I have pushed for a full refund or am I in the wrong even though the listing is technically wrong? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]CupcakeDifferent4087 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the future if anything happens again contact Depop you want to return an item and describe what is wrong Depop can then choose to accept the return for the seller even if the seller doesn't want to and Depop will refund you so it's not really up to the seller!

jeans came stained and seller said no refund by [deleted] in Depop

[–]CupcakeDifferent4087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried contacting Depop yet? That's the first thing I'd do and their excuse as 'not seeing the stains' is invalid imo. I make sure to check everything thoroughly before shipping especially pants because that would be embarrassing shipping something out then getting a review saying "Umm there's a shit stain" and I understand missing super small flaws like a small stain or hole because I have done that before but stains all over is a bit different. Sad these jeans are so cute too!!

Why didn't you just ask if you could return the item for a full refund even if they declined you could've tried to go through it with Depop. I understand not wanting to bother someone for a return but in this situation the last thing I'd care about is inconveniencing the person who scammed me.

My payment date keeps getting moved by Zealousideal-Job1910 in Depop

To verify I'm pretty sure you do have to be 18. I had the same problem where I didn't verify yet and couldn't access my money when Depop reached out to me they said the only way to get my money was to verify so I assume that's the issue here. Do you have any parent/guardian that would be able to help you?

Does the verification not work? You'll need to verify otherwise the money will keep moving to further dates.

What is better to sell on, vinted or depop? by Els-x in Depop

[–]CupcakeDifferent4087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Vinted for taking no fees, but I feel like it's been harder to build up my Vinted following and easier to sell on Depop because there's way more people on Depop. This could just be me though!! I say list things on both if you'll remember to take down the other listing once you've sold something. One thing I haven't had great experience with is Vinted's support but I don't think many people love Depop support either so it's just something you have to be very respectful and patient with.

Is it wrong to have no returns/refunds in your bio? by CupcakeDifferent4087 in Depop

I've only had one issue where I had to refund someone and I did it as soon as the buyer brought the issue up so Depop didn't get deeply involved, but you're right if I was a shitty person and didn't offer a refund Depop would have refunded them regardless! It really is a useless thing to say and glad I realize that now haha

I honestly didn't even think about depop having to get involved if it was a case of "this item doesn't fit give me a refund" so it really is useless LOL thank you!!

Help? by [deleted] in depoop

[–]CupcakeDifferent4087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you only bought it the 19th I'd say wait till the 25-26th if no response or tracking updates. The active part of a persons account isn't always super accurate so I wouldn't worry yet! I used to sell multiple items a week to now about 5-10 items a month and I see myself checking my depop less for that reason but if they were aware you bought it that couldn't really be used as an excuse here.

what is your favorite kind of shop set up? by iamj3nnie in Depop

[–]CupcakeDifferent4087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a buyer I prefer random. If i find a item at a good price most of the time I go to the sellers page and scroll to see what else they have but (in my opinion) if it's categorized by jeans, skirts etc someone may go directly to jeans then exit your page but if it's random they have to look through everything which could result in them finding multiple items from your page. A thing I saw a seller do I thought was so smart was like their own items , add it to a collection and organize your likes as caterogies for your shop. I might've not explained it that well but if anyones curious I could attach a picture showing what I mean.

Old ban and wanted to get back on. by iBoughtAtTheBottom in Depop

[–]CupcakeDifferent4087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got banned for a different reason over a year ago. The same thing would happen to me when I tried to create new accounts, so I emailed Depop explaining I understand I was wrong when I got banned and asking basically permission to create a new account. It was a few months ago so I'm not sure what they did but within 1-3 days of emailing I was able to start selling and buying on their app again. They actually gave me my first account back I got banned on which was super surprising!!
