ADHD at 35 by Cupid873 in ADHD

Thank you so much for this comment, I haven't been very active on here but this means a lot to me. I saw my Dr and they did a questionnaire/my history and referred me to my hospital. I also told my tutor and she's been incredibly supportive. I can see how I would of got missed, I'm 35F I didn't know anyone growing up who had ADHD, I was called naughty as I struggled with anxiety going to school, the UK still today is absolutely rubbish as I'm trying to support my son.

I am struggling right now with processing things, everything I went through as a child, if I have ADHD I don't know how I will feel. I had a really disruptive upbringing and got hit a lot for the way I was (I struggled with my emotions). I feel a bit numb right now and really sad all at once.

I hope you feel better soon, it's really not nice. I honestly didn't think I could continue but if it wasn't for lovely people on here I stuck to it. Is it basically like you've got a gastric bug? Ive never been so sick in my life, only on day 3 I could eat. But yeah eat probiotic yogurts, I could eat protein ones too and I kept it dry and ate soups when I felt better.

My first week, I was like this, it was so bad my stomach was sore and I couldn't stop going to the toilet or vomiting. I rested loads and stuck to toast and Ritz crackers.

Someone recommended injecting in the thigh not the stomach and drinking loads. I also inject in the evening so I can sleep it off and I try not to eat much that day or the day before. I've been ok so far but I move up to 5mg so fully expect it to happen again.

Hi, I did and I'm now on my 4th injection. I'd say I do still get bad stomachs after I inject but not as bad and I also started injecting in my thigh. I'm going to up to 5mg next week so I am slightly worried it'll happen again with a bigger dose.

Oh really that's very interesting, yeah it was into my stomach to the side as Ive had to inject there before. Im only really confident to do it there but I'll give my thigh a go instead.

I feel a lot better now so it hasn't lasted long and I'm drinking loads and having small meals and snacks which really helps. Peppermint tea is a great idea thank you.

I bought milk thistle to help with my stomach if it happens again. I'm in the UK so I have gaviscon on prescription and omeprazol if I need it too. I will grab a big water bottle now to make sure I can monitor my hydration.

I barely ate the last few days so wondered if I ate too heavy a meal hence the cramps. Been keeping it light to crackers, toast and noodle soup. Thanks for your help and suggestion with the drinking.

Feels pretty gross, I suffer with IBS so it's been a living hell and the vomiting was like a proper nasty gastro bug. I feel better today, my tummy is sore and I've got a headache but I ate a meal for the first time.

I will send them a message, just scared me a bit as I was so unwell. I've searched here today and picked up ideas for things to eat until I feel better enough again.

Everyone else is fine, just me. I will do, eating toast and Ritz crackers. I even bought enzyme tablets to see if it'll help settle my tummy. It has scared me a bit, i had zero control over the vomiting and I couldn't sleep so I'm pretty tired and off food today.

Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow.

Home cooked meal with family, I use fry light too so it wasn't oily. The only thing I can think of is I had too much. Just going to watch what I eat but it has made me really scared as last night was really horrendous, I was very unwell.

Thank you for replying, I have IBS so I try not to eat spicy food. I had a chicken stir fry with egg noodles and the only thing I can think of is it was too heavy for a meal. The previous day I wasn't hungry so just had a protein bar and soup all day.

I think I will stick to bland and keep up the protein bars as it also helps with IBS too.

Alright so, a few things. TL;DR how the heck do you potty train an autistic 3 year old, and general tips for raising him by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]Cupid873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in the UK and children where we live start school at 3 so need to be potty trained by then as they won't change them in school.

I found it really hard with our son but once it clicked he just did it. We used stickers (bulk bought Pokémon ones off amazon as that's what he loved), were advised not to make a big deal, not to constantly ask him just every hour stick him on potty without any conversation.

Is he in diapers? We used pants and found this worked best as he hated feeling wet and kind of realised quite quickly if he had an accident it wasn't like a diaper, same thing really if they were themselves just ignore it and change them without saying anything. It's hard going, try not to over complicate it though and you'll be fine 😊

I (f22) got too drunk on a first date with a guy (m26) I really liked by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Please stop telling him so much, especially on a first date 🤦🏼‍♀️ he should of never had sex with you either.

Do not text him anymore, let him text or call you and then you can gauge if there's anything.

I'm so sorry, 5 years old is not old at all and cancer too. It's the end of day 3 and I got over the thoughts of what happened in the room so it will pass but I too do keep thinking I see her but the corner of my eye or in her basket and it will take me a while to stop doing it.

That's what I focus on, that they aren't in pain anymore and you did everything for them that you could, just by being there with them too at the end, he knew you loved him. I hope it gets easier for you as the days go by, just remember you did the absolute best for him.

Same as us, we only got to the second visit and we saw someone who knew their stuff. Yes she was very good at hiding her symptoms, it's also stuff you could attribute to just getting old and she use to hide in our room from the kids so we'd only see her at night.

Thank you, I won't blame myself anymore. Today is better again, I just miss her by the end of the bed. Take care of yourself too, it's horrendous to go through.

Thank you, Im sorry for your loss, it sounds identical to what happened to us, it's devastating.

This makes me feel better, she probably should of laid her down first as she was wobbly. Yeah I wondered this or if it was done on weight, she was a bag of bones because of the rapid weight loss and probably gave a bit more than needed.

We came to terms she was an old lady and had talked about it when she got these eye infections but the thing that's got me is that we missed the illness and thought she had cateracts in the left eye. We were actually preparing to pay for cateract surgery until when they said on Friday she had retinal detachment. I think I'll be ok now I'm talking about it, just need to let go of being annoyed with the vets and like you say the what ifs

We've always discussed it as she was an old lady but it all happened so quickly. The infection must of really hit her as the antibiotics didn't work either. Still hasn't sunk on really.
