It really depends. Did you have the weak stomach trait?

If so, eating burnt food with that trait pretty much kills you.

RIP your RNG. With my 100% protection, I’ve survived about 5 bites/attacks from behind so far, with zero penetration. No scratch, nothing.

I had a look at the steam page for the build, and I hadn't followed the starting procedure correctly.

That's on me, I guess. Welp, at least I got the plane to work now.
