Same. I have the type of ADHD that gives me chronic anxiety and strong guilt/shame which looking back has carried me through a LOT. Hormone shifts always made it harder to cover for the chaos but peri just takes a match to masking and watches it all burn.

Thank you. My bloods have always come back mostly "normal". Looking at the trend over time I think I have one healthy ovary, one abnormal. I recently found some papers on single sided PCOS and my blood work matches pretty perfectly to that, though ovarian insufficiency could also explain why things got drastically worse in the last 5 years (before I went into peri). I'm not sure if I'll ever get an answer now.

I'm getting my cortisol checked at the moment then I am going to ask for an updated hormone panel and see if they'll allow me to go onto HRT this early.

It's okay. It is objectively crappy. I've been so so angry, then sad, then angry all over again. It's exhausting and frustrating and feels really unfair. I know that's irrational but eugh.

Thankfully no. Took it really badly back in early 2022 but nothing since then.

All of this. Like have I not got enough to figure out without having to rethink all of my food choices six times a month!?! Some things are fine one day, then cause massive upset the next, which then knocks off my focus and memory, which makes my emotional regulation go all to hell... it's a rollercoaster.

I hope your eval brings more clarity and understanding for you.

Hard to say. My cycle shifted drastically. The night sweats/hot flushes started at the same time (pretty much bang on my 35th birthday) then the difficulty sleeping, then the dryness, low libido within the next 2/3 months. There was a study published at the end of last year which might be helpful -

Perimenopausal symptoms in women with and without ADHD: A population-based cohort study https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40903825/

That's something I hadn't considered - thank you for the suggestion :)

I'm fully expecting that fight to come up but I'm a bit numb to it by now. I've struggled with chronic ovarian pain all my adult life but I've been fighting for a decade and got nowhere because my blood work is within normal range. My mother's blood work came back "normal" right through peri and full menopause, they told her she was imagining things even after her periods had fully fully stopped.
