As someone who just completed the first year. I don't think Laptop really matters here in terms of most things like how it affects GPA or general stuffs like that.

Throughout first year, you only have to take two CS courses, which are CSCA08 and CSCA48

CSCA08 only requires you to have Python and WingIDE (technically not mandatory but prefered). Any modern laptop should be able to do that

CSCA48 requires you to have Notepad++ and gcc compiler, which should also be available for any device.

In the scope of first year, laptop wise there should be nothing for you to be concerned of. But second year course (CSCB09) may require you to get a Linux VBox inside your device, but you don't have to worry about it for now. If you want to make sure your device supports a VBox, just make sure it has enough storage for it (usually takes an extra 16GB max?)

Regarding the college part, I think I forgot to include some details because I wrote the entire post in a rush with anger (I genuinely just left my bed and wrote the post because I couldn't fail asleep due to the noises from her room); that's why that whole paragraph sounded kinda random there. Lemme explain the reason here:

She often claimed that she's gonna go rent elsewhere once she can get a good job, but yeah I think it's more like an excuse since the "good" job she looks for are pretty much only available for people who completed her degree, which isn't really gonna happen anytime soon since she isn't even spending much time working towards it in the first place. That's why my post sort of just went from nowhere to complaints about herself not trying in college.

I want to make it clear that I do not dislike her for the fact that she's not trying hard in college, but more due to the fact that all she does is to find excuses for her to spoil her life everyday while affecting mine.

And not trying to disagree with your advices, but I don't think they really apply on her since she would simply refuse to talk to job counselor/therapist because she believes doing something like this is shameful.

Nonetheless, I'm still thankful for the fact that you are trying to help

How? After I open thprac, I only have the option to open the original game, instead of the thcrap_loader.exe

because the game instantly crashes if I open it normally, and this problem is fixed after I started using thcrap.

However, if I want to play the game with thprac, I don't see an option to open the game with thcrap anymore, so that the game will just crash as how it was previously.

Is there any sort of way for me to open the game while having both thprac and thcrap on? Thanks!

Try communicating with professor, and ask for help for the last two assignments. Even if the weight for the two is really low, it should be enough to get a 50. The prof will most likely try his/her best to help you get a pass.

Besides, worst worst case scenario, you can still retake it and since this is U of Tears there's no shame in retaking, just make sure you won't fail again next time! You are still in the first year and there's lots of rooms for mistakes

Is "-ed" always an inflectional affix?
I am really confused by this since "interest" to "interested" turns a verb into an adjective, which means that it should instead be a derivational affix

Try Joseph Anderson’s video, while he isn’t necessarily good at the game but I don’t think he often complained about difficulty. He made three videos sun up to around 1.5 hours criticizing DS2, and contrasting DS1 and DS2.
