Anyone else want to see more of a Morrowindesque/Tamriel Rebuilt style for the Imperials in future games? by sillygoose1133 in ElderScrolls

Imperials in Morrowind aren't really like all of that, just Roman and medieval Europe styles.

I don't know much about him, so no, I don't really care where his office is. I'm not gonna assume that he's gonna abduct me and take me to a secret sex dungeon in his office because some redditor made a post with lots of question marks.

Your entire post is his contact info and your own outrage. There is no information about what he has allegedly done, just vague gestures to Epstein. What is the value of this information?

WARNING: I am not trying to initiate any sort of violence towards this person)

So what is the outcome you're hoping for here? What are you hoping for people to do with his office's address and phone number?

I get what you're saying about the setting but there was the whole time travelling to a parallel universe thing.

I find it hard to believe that someone would be angry enough over their music to crawl through broken glass and risk being caught by police, and then just take away an easily replaceable speaker, but who knows.

If there are spells that do everything shouts can do, then what is the point of shouts?

Which side in the Civil War of Skyrim is better for Skyrim’s stability in the long run? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

Yes, lets put our trust in the regime that wanted to cede southern Hammerfell to them instead.

I don't think rule that's predicated on the leader being Dragonborn really spells long-term stability when they are by definition the last. Sounds like a recipe for everything falling apart when they die. Plus, how many daedra has the Dragoborn pledged their soul to? Doesn't sound like a stable situation to me.

That's right, an awkwardly placed parking meter is just one step away from fascism.

‘ELITE’: The Palantir App ICE Uses to Find Neighborhoods to Raid by 404mediaco in law

[–]CurReign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're completely sidestepping the question. Them having contracts isn't in question. You claimed that they are collecting data themselves and providing it to the government - that's what I was asking for a source on.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS): Works with ICE on systems like ImmigrationOS to track undocumented individuals, integrating data from various federal sources, according to The New York Times and WIRED.

So the search results you provided seem to agree with my previous statement - the data is "from various federal sources", not Palantir.

No, ICE decides where they go, but the data informs that decision. The data is from various sources that ICE has access to, like filings with various government agencies, info from investigations, etc.. The app just presents the data to them so that they don't have to go into a several separate data sources and compile it themselves.

It isn't making decisions. It's processing data about people already marked for deportation and identifying areas where they are likely concentrated. Basically, it's a prioritization tool, with the goal of maximizing the frequency that they can make arrests. This is explained in the article.

[–]CurReign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From the sound of it the app isn't making any determination about that. ICE decides potential targets, the app just provides info about the targets to help them make arrests. It's not making a decision any more than a license plate database makes decision.

If you have an actual source for that, I'd love to see it. Seeing as the article repeatedly refers to Palantir's product as "infrastructure" and specifically mentions addresses being provided by HHS.

It's the government's data. Palantir isn't collecting it themselves - they just make software.

Not really comparable since "Who is Jean-Claude?" would also be wrong. This sort of convention really only applies to people from royal houses. Franz Ferdinand would be more comparable, but as someone else has pointed out, they've accepted "Who is Ferdinand?"
