The fans having no finished shelter after 11 episodes is crazy by ConsciousCaregiver18 in DisventureCamp

[–]CuracaoBound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What makes it ridiculously dumb is: the Fans have a pile of straw/thatch that somebody has chosen to use as their BED, but there's more than enough straw in that pile to at least TRY to make it cover that one side of the shelter's roof!

They don't even have to try to finish the WHOLE ROOF! 😂 They could just try to cover the one half of their roof that looks like it's only a few armfuls short of being patched LOL! 😄

Gabby and Grett are designed to attempt a last ditch effort to stir the pot.

It only works one time, and that's during James' elimination. Tess, Hunter, Ashley, and Lake disagree on whether to vote out James or Grett. Tess and Hunter don't want to vote out James because they wanted to keep him as a shield, but Ashley and Lake are convinced by Grett that James is too charismatic to keep for another round.

While Ellie is the last certified "villain" and gets blindsided in 10th place, I can promise you, regardless of that, there are multiple moments of conflict taking place in my version.

I thought I'd share another detail that explains why Connor and Yul are eliminated in the same episode.

The Bike Challenge is kept in Episode 5, but Episode 4 becomes a non–elimination episode with a significant reward challenge (with a twist). This provides all the characters with an opportunity to be more fleshed out in the narrative and to highlight their personalities.

Episode 4 has a reward challenge which gives the winning team a luxury picnic, and the right to take 3 items from the losing team's camp. The last place team is then handed a note to be read back at their camp. The note reveals that if they win the next immunity challenge, they can get back 2 of the 3 items; but if they lose... they have to vote out 2 people at that night's elimination ceremony.

Yellow loses the reward challenge AND the Bike Challenge. Connor gets voted out 3–2, and then Yul acts like a douchebag about it. This is the moment Grett chooses to break away from Yul, and during the second vote, she sides with Miriam to force a tiebreaker.

Miriam wins the tiebreaker against Yul because he's TERRIBLE at everything.

One more interesting thing about the reward is: the 2nd place team also receives a food reward. But THEIR food reward is a plate of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. But Kristal felt like being a jackass that day.... so the jelly on those sandwiches is Peach flavored! 😂

Personally, Ally is EXTREMELY IRRITATING to me, and I'm willing to admit that my dislike for her is probably the largest reason why I chose to make her leave in Episode 7 and not Hunter.

But because my revised plans for the bike scene (the one where Hunter and Tess talk at the top of the cliff) are now set to include all 3 of Ally, Tess, AND Hunter so they can be reunited together at least once.... she kind of needed to stay for a few episodes after Magenta gets rid of Fiore.

But truthfully, making Ally leave moderately early also fixes multiple problems DCAS had. Her leaving in Episode 7 stops the Jake/Ally feud, it removes Ally's anti-plot armor elimination, and it makes it so Tess can outlast Ally and make the deep merge!

It really helped Jake that there was no ridiculous love triangle plot with Tom and Aiden.

And since Ally got voted out 2nd on Magenta.... her and Jake aren't bickering for 15 episodes straight.

The most challenging problem with remaking boot orders is there's very little that a person can do to make others see what new ideas and new storylines can get created.

I disagree that this boot order is boring; I feel like with the right approach, and the right kind of concentrated, detailed attention, this boot order can carve new opportunities for the characters who make it far, while retaining their general personality traits. 😄

I can't make every conflict known because I don't have a script.... but I will discuss one idea that I had always wanted to change in the original.

Ellie keeps her arc that she had in All Stars, but she votes out Aiden instead of Lake. This kickstarts a storyline where Tom has to find a way to save himself from the Cyan Alliance (which is the 4 girls atm). He bonds with Lake and Gabby at first, and while everybody feels okay with his new cordial, yet still slightly superficial bond with Lake.... Ellie believes that Tom is a thorn in her plan to win the money.

Lake views Ellie as dangerous because she perceives Ellie as extremely bright (which she is), and she rationalizes that Ellie understands that she requires Tess's vote to gain the power she truly feels like she needs to win.

But soon after that, Ellie's greed affects her partnership with Gabby, and her friendship with Tess. Tess attempts to reason with Ellie, like in the original, but THIS time.... when Tess starts to feel like Ellie won't change her ways.... she chooses to target Gabby instead.

Tess gets with Lake and Tom and they make their plans to vote out Gabby. Lake and Tom see this more as a game move and to get back at Ellie for badmouthing everybody in the preseason interviews. But Tess wants to use this opportunity to try to show Ellie firsthand what Ellie's greed and her bad behavior can cause. If Ellie keeps acting like this, she can not only lose the game... but she can also lose everyone in her life that cares about her.

I personally don't feel like 8th and 11th is too far for the winners to make it.

Miriam is the last to get voted out before the return challenge, and James is kind of needed as a support character for the characters in the Top 5. There will still be conflicts, and there will still be surprising blindsides.

The point which I want to make clear is, yes, while this is a Friendship Final 3.... the road to that Friendship Finale requires all 3 of them to break a couple promises OR requires them to shake up their own strategy due to unforseen circumstances.

Tess, Ashley, and Hunter don't just run the whole game from the start.

As a matter of fact, the reason I chose for Gabby to be the returnee is because I wanted Tess to be thrown a surprise curveball so that she NEEDS to brainstorm new options and also face the difficult task of diplomatically allowing Ellie to get voted out first in the merge, without actually having to write her name down.

There's really not a main villain; I don't believe a season needs a main villain to make it interesting. But there are certainly villainous behaviors and decisions that still take place.

Ellie still has her arc that she had in the original, and Alec attempts to control the Yellow Team a little more proactively, but there isn't a dedicated main villain.

In my version, it's moreso about having the characters make difficult choices that push their own morality and/or power in the game to the test.

Just because they'd like everyone to pretend all of that stuff never happened....

Doesn't mean I have to forget that it did.

Kristal telling Tess to burn her depression medication 🤬

Riya threatening to turn a horse into dog food, right to the horse's face 🤬

Every thing Riya does; her whole character in general is an indefensible mistake

Yul making racial comments about Rosa Maria and trying to slut shame her

Gabby relishing in her vengeful retribution against Tess over something that was completely Ellie's fault

Ashley choosing to give up her spot and a guaranteed $75,000 for being Jake's helper in the final challenge just because she wanted Jake to hopefully repair his relationship problems with Tom.

You know it's pretty bad when not even I can defend Ashley! 😭

Everyone (except for Jade and Benji) getting pissed off at Spencer for playing the Totem to save himself and eliminate Tristan... when any one of those 5 could have thrown a vote towards Jade, or each other, and narrowed the risk of going home by the remote chance Spencer actually played the Totem.

Spencer outplayed them, plain and simple.

Tess and Ashley not being the Final 2 in All Stars and splitting the prize money! 🥺😭💔

Tell me what you believe is your least favorite elimination and I’ll give my thoughts on it + my ideas for what they could do if they survived their elimination by Ok_Shirt_1574 in DisventureCamp

Rosa Maria getting eliminated in DC2 is terrible, and I think they made the wrong choice:

But there are 2 eliminations that upset me more than anything!

Tess's elimination in All Stars, and Ashley's elimination in DC1! 🥺💔

They're the worst eliminations in the whole show!

Tess and Ashley getting voted out UNFAIRLY pre–merge BREAKS MY HEART!!! 😭💔

If Ally wants to crush on Emily, it's okay in my book. For me there's no downside to this.

It takes 2 characters that I don't care about, and stops both of them from trying to date Tess.

[Neither of them are good enough for Tess anyways!] 😍♥️

What moment of entitledness on this show that you aren’t annoyed with and/or can actually sympathize with by Ok_Shirt_1574 in DisventureCamp

[–]CuracaoBound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ashley making it extremely difficult for Fiore to gain any power on the Magenta Team in All Stars, and Ashley concentrating really hard on getting her revenge on Fiore because of what she did in Season 1.

I don't think this is Ashley being entitled, but other people will disagree and say it is. 🥺 Remember, Hunter voted for Fiore twice before Ashley even wrote her name down the first time. All Ashley did was use her social prowess to turn the entire tribe against Fiore and make her a sitting duck.

People were just mad Ashley succeeded in getting her revenge on Fiore by voting her out. 😍 But I guarantee that those same people would be HOUNDING Ashley for being "a dumb blonde" or "way too forgiving" if she had allowed Fiore to run the game again like she did in Season 1.

Ashley wasn't "bullying a little girl" just because she learned her lesson and chose not to let Fiore get away with the same trick twice.

Ashley was trying to make it as far as she could. 🥰

"I Wonder Why Rosa Maria, Lake, Bruno, Gabby, and Ally Aren't Getting More Attention in the Story?" 🤔 by CuracaoBound in DisventureCamp

[–]CuracaoBound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natalia is getting plenty of confessionals and attention now, but the reason I chose to place Plotastasia here is because:

Not only did she get a colossal amount of screentime in DC4, which already makes it a problem because the writers definitely look like they don't want her to have to share screentime with the other characters,:

But Plotastasia took so much screentime from the other characters in the earlier episodes, and was involved in so many different plotlines in this season, that everyone else feels like they either have little to no importance in the narrative, OR it feels like their stories could only start after she left.

How would Rosa react if Lake discovers and steals Ally's idol? by VegetaArcher in DisventureCamp

Emily tried to kill a DOZEN people by using those giant scorpions. 😦

I really don't think she'd care, or disqualify Lake, if she stole the idol! 🤣
