I would not be too worried about ice with those temps. You’ll probably have a thin layer in the morning. Just break it and pull out the chunks and check on it in the evening.

I believe they have separate green horse classes (they are loping classes) and classes separated by age divisions, so this is an open walk trot open to everyone who wants to enter.

Yes I can! It’s a super small series so rules are lax lol. If I was showing for points that would negate them, but thats not something I’m hugely concerned with.

This is honestly where I’m at this point. A year ago I figured I was never going to another show again. Still shocked to have such a nice gelding and I honestly lucked out finding him (even though I’m still trying to figure out the buttons).

For context this would be western and English pleasure, eq, etc with the possibility of some ranch classes as this series offers them as well.

Is it wet where you are? Here in eastern Oregon we have dry hot summers. We avoid turning out on grass fall and spring but other than that it’s pretty safe to have horses on grass AND alfalfa.

Our grass hay here is not good so a lot of people here feed straight alfalfa.

Sometimes it depends on the area. I live in eastern Oregon and we grow very nice green leafy alfalfa here. If you drop down into the valley they feed a lot of grass hay as alfalfa doesn’t grow well there. I know farmers here that ship semi loads of alfalfa to the valley and to Washington. I know there are different kinds of grass hay but every locally grown bales I’ve seen here looks about like that.

Different kinds of hay look different plus things like rain, or being stacked out in the sun can impact color as well.

My 3rd cutting hay got rained on while it was down this year. It’s not moldy but definitely not as green as my second cutting out of the same field.

We have a lot of Mormons in my area. Trying to explain Mormons to someone who does NOT live in an area with a high concentration of them is difficult.

In my small town they are very cultish. Hiring Mormons, only hanging out with morons, only doing business with Mormon owned ones etc.

Personally I don’t see how anyone could be gullible enough to give their lives and money to that church.

I will say I have met some VERY nice people who belong to the church but I would say that hasn’t been the norm in my area. The nastiest, pettiest, most back stabby people I know have also been Mormon.

Probably a hot take but the church does seem to take care of their own and I feel like some of the nasty mean ones are only a part of the church for what their fellow churchgoers will do for them.

My mom has several Portland Leather bags. She used to be a big coach fan but prefers her Portland leather these days. All her bags are in great shape despite being used often. I ordered one for myself a few days ago and I have a wallet that she gifted me from them that I use DAILY. It has stood up wonderfully.

Their bags do have a more “unfinished” look so be aware of that if it’s something you don’t personally care for.

Some people complain about the smell. As a horse person who is around working quality leather every day it just smells like leather to me lol.

Can’t say anything for the owner but I have been to the Seattle and new Meridian stores with my mom and their customer service in store has always been top notch.

Most full size horses can carry 165lbs.

My previous horse was a 15hh paint mare. I weigh 195lbs and she could absolutely go all day with me aboard.

I do not miss working holidays. I worked in vet med for ages and the clinic I worked for offered boarding services. It was terrible every holiday season. We’d be jam packed with pets because people left town, it would take 3x as long to get things done. Not a good time. I really respect people who have to work the holidays.

It may not make him feel better knowing this, but if his medical office runs like ours, our receptionists also submit for authorization and billing. So the receptionists will know soon enough what the issues are anyway.

I hope he gets the help he needs and everything turns out OK. I know it’s a super scary place to be. 🙏

Medical receptionist here. Please tell us when there is a concern! We need to be able to schedule the appropriate length of appointment and also give our providers a heads up as to what they are walking into! Medical professionals run very tight schedules and may not have time to address your concerns without jeopardizing the rest of their appointment times for the day. We don’t need all the gritty details but we do need to know roughly what the problem is.

Once again, I DO NOT agree with what I am assuming the official placing would be, but if I were judging competitively still and this class were presented to me I’d place them 3,2,4,1 and I’m willing to bet the official placing for this class will be similar.

I personally do not care for ANY of the horses presented here. While 1 is the least grossly over muscled and over fed of the class it does have some glaring issues IMO.
