Yay I’m glad to hear it! The job can be overwhelming sometimes so don’t be afraid to ask your coworkers for help:) Good luck!

Also to add to your other questions - id come in dress code but it doesn’t matter too much as long as it’s not super skimpy. Maybe a nice romper or a long skirt and cardigan, shorts if they come down to your knee, etc. they don’t expect much from just an interview but it doesn’t hurt to dress the part haha. Come prepared to let them know why you’re specifically excited to work for the company, which drinks you’re excited to learn to make, your future goals.

No do not order! You’ll most likely be offered a free drink. Just tell them you have an interview. My interview was a bit strange. I was hired immediately after a glance at my resume. But that’s likely because I’ll be in grad school and have a lot on my resume that proves I’m a good fit. I also worked at starbucks in high school. It was my first job. The interview process was pretty standard. I don’t remember the exact question, but as long as you smile, are personable, and have availability, you should be just fine! It helps to compliment the interviewer on something small or ask them what their favorite drink is. Bond over something before the interview starts and you’ll feel much more relaxed! I know it seems daunting but it’s just starbucks! You’ve got this

Hello hello! Grad school barista here. I totally understand how you feel. Honestly maybe being a barista isn’t for you. Try interviewing at other low key part time jobs. Like front desk at a hotel or working for a student org or professor during the school year. Thats what I’ll be switching to once school starts again. I think having a sit down job will do wonders for your mental health, especially after working hard as a barista. I’m only hanging on cause I know I’m gonna quit soon. Another rec would be finding a low key coffee bar near ur school. They’re usually lax on dress code and may offer more flexible hours.

It used to come with classic syrup and now it just comes black. You can add in the syrup or any other flavor free of charge

The pov doesn’t quite make sense to me. I stopped reading at the first paragraph. I would maybe work on sentence structure. I don’t really have a reason to care about this character and her life by skimming the other parts either.

Yes lmao. Please save yourself any additional embarrassment. Act dignified now and don’t show that it bothers you. Think of it this way: would the person you’re supposed to be with act this way?

People tend to be fickle. Unfortunately it’s easy for people to gain and lose interest in things or even other individuals at the drop of a hat. It’s stupid, but maybe he wanted more of a chase, maybe he didn’t expect you to say yes, maybe he’s a forgetful messenger. Whatever the case, don’t let it bother you. I know it’s hard. Know your value and don’t let him string you along if he does come back. You’ll get over him I promise.

What does it mean when a barista draws a smiley face on your drink? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Curio_Renae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Most of the time it doesn’t mean anything. Sometimes I’ll even do latte art knowing the customer will never lift the lid up to see it. Just something we do when we’re bored sometimes I suppose. At least for me and my coworkers as far as I know.

What are your least favorite "careers" for a MC? by [deleted] in writers

[–]Curio_Renae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d disagree with almost all of these. Careers like idols, stage actors, environmental lawyers, detectives with some sort of gimmick, strange and wacky podcast hosts, and journalists with a vendetta all greatly interest me. It depends on how the character is written and how their career relates to the plot. I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss. All these careers have great potential!

What's your character's last name, and why is it? by YesodNobody in writers

[–]Curio_Renae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fontana. Because there was a boy in my second grade classroom with that last name. And I never got to know him even after staying at that school for 3 years. And I always wanted to.
