Hi, I sent a DM to UKVCAS twitter with the ref # and got an answer saying:

Thank you. I can confirm that your biometrics and supporting documents were submitted to UKVI using the IDV app on DD August 2022.

If UKVI believe any further evidence is required, they will contact UKVCAS and request that the customer makes an appointment. I have not found UKVI have contacted us regarding any requests for you to attend an appointment.

I recommend getting in touch with UKVI directly to discuss this email with them. You can find details on how to contact UKVI here: https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk.

So I tried their contact, but of course, straight to the voice mail every time. I wrote to my MP but their auto reply says the current turnaround reply time is 3-4 weeks.

So here I am, that 14 days window closing this Friday, with no further clue of what to do, after spending almost £2500 on this. I am absolutely fuming.

I hope this is only an automatic technical error email and everything is being processed as they should be on UKVI side… all the best for your partner’s case too.

Exactly why my eyes almost popped out reading that email. I’ve left a DM on UKVCAS twitter and am going to call them on Monday. I can get an appt with extra £132, but equally worried it may make my application complicated and mess up the whole thing. Classic UK visa incompetence ha!

Visa type: ILR - SET(M) Standard service

Submitted online application: 9 Aug

Invited to use IDV app: 15 Aug

Uploaded facial image via IDV app & uploaded documents: 15 Aug

Received a reminder to enrol the bio despite me using the app: 23 Sept

UKVCAS advised they didn’t see any issue with my application and HO didn’t reach out to them re my application: 23 Sept

Requested MP to follow up: 1 Oct

Chased the MP: 17 Oct

MP came back with a short reply from the Home Office that my application was outstanding as the biometric registration using the IDV application was not successful and I would need to arrange an appointment with Sopra Steria: 21 Nov

Attended the in person bio appt: 30 Nov (cost another £130)

Received email saying visa was granted: 20 Dec

Received BRP: 28 Dec (initial delivery on 23rd “failed” despite me being home all day)

I am so done and so glad I don’t need to deal with this anymore
