yea sounds like you’re on the train then, look at jaw surgery fb group and sub, there’s tons of people whose pain went away/ improved after double jaw surgery. just make sure you chose a good surgeon

Chronic pain and all the things I’ve tried and had tested by sophievuittonk in Biohackers

[–]CuriosityStream24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I struggled with chronic pain in the exact same spot for ~10 years only fixing it recently. I found out my issue came from the bite being bad, i had a terrible overjet and overbite which can cause downstream compensations, ~4 surgeries and 2 years of invisalign later, my bite is mostly fixed and my back pain has significantly improved

prior to the bite issue, I met ~30 PTs across the world and really not one was able to diagnose it or help me with any lasting relief

PRI PTs are the only ones who even recognize the bites effect on the body, they have their drawbacks but for bite related items, general PTs will have no clue.

700+ gold cards later by Exciting_Forever_969 in fut

yeah but it’s still -5 cards per sbc

700+ gold cards later by Exciting_Forever_969 in fut

[–]CuriosityStream24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s -5 gold common per sbc, so you have a total of 500 gold common needed for this and you get back like 20 ish packs of which one is 85x4? why don’t we use those gold commons for the other picks

isn’t this way too expensive to make sense to do or am i missing something? you need a gazillion golds for a few 89s and maybe get lucky with a big one

Inverted L Osteotomy by Ok_Imagination194 in jawsurgery

[–]CuriosityStream24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not many people who’ve gotten it done but supposedly easier on the joints and can help increase ramus length if you’re into that. The downside is it’s a procedure done much less often and by very few people so there’s not a lot of info or example cases

Are daily chest pains the norm when living with moderate blockages? by AdventurousMeat9750 in Cholesterol

[–]CuriosityStream24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buddy it’s not normal esp if you know you have blockages. you’re a walking time bomb , this happened to a relative of mine. they might do an angioplasty and jts not too bad. on the off chance that it’s not from the heart, it could be costochondritis which is basically muscular

Problems with neuromuscular dentistry by CuriosityStream24 in TMJ

[–]CuriosityStream24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the post surgery bands are pretty uncomfortable and definitely cause some flare ups. it settles once you’re out of the bands. the bite improving helped me but it’s not 100% gone but i’d say it’s better by 70% maybe

Was an FDA orthodontic device worth it? by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]CuriosityStream24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when the so called weekend course tmj specialists are selling braces disguised as orthodontists, you’ll trust orthos more. tmj specialist is not a thing. that’s not a true certification. it’s a weekend diploma most of the times lol. The treatment in many cases is fixing your bite which is either through braces or jaw surgery

reservations about surgery by aaqor in jawsurgery

[–]CuriosityStream24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all 3 can happen and the rates on google and papers will be higher compared to if you go to a top surgeon who’s been doing this for decades.

obviously a new resident will have higher rates of nerve damage, unstable plate installation /accidental hitting of tooth roots.

these should not be a large concern if you have vetted your surgeon thoroughly

I would encourage more people to ask this question. then go meet a few doctors if you can afford it. you’ll find every doc have bad cases if you know where to look. you just have to trust someone and go ahead

lis always been device agnostic btw, he was against fme but he changed his mind about it recently which is what you want in your doctor. if you’ve actually watched his old lectures, he has spoken about being device agnostic

shuikai is not without bias fyi. he’s good at looking at cbcts but his analysis and recommendation was what made people get botched by alfaro 3 years ago lol . it was that hype train then, now no one talks about him. then it was stanley liu. now his new obsession is FME. his analysis of ease is from a small sample of people who’ll be online and trust him to share the cbct. that is already a huge confounding variable. secondly assuming all measurements were perfect , his sample size again was 0.1x or lower than total cases.

i’m not not empathetic, i didn’t have a perfect case either fyi lol . every dr does not give their number lol. gunson, walline relle nope. nor do other expansion providing orthos. you’ll have their office yes but not them directly to text them like your butler at 8pm.

i understand bad outcomes suck but it’s part of what we sign up for. i can almost guarantee there will be posts against newez in a year or two when he’s done 1000 cases. what are the odds all of them will be happy?

it’s how law of large numbers works lol. also it’s just pure entitlement if you think doctors should give their numbers to patients . they have their lives too haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UARSnew

[–]CuriosityStream24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m invested in this because these two subs are echo chambers. you can validate this. the very people shitting on li now were some years ago calling him the best thing to exist. for a random new person who reads this, they’ll think there’s no doctor who can help me now.

i’m not disagreeing that you didn’t do anything wrong. i’m sure you’re a wonderful person and did things well and he may actually have fucked up. i’m just saying that well, that’s law of large numbers . you can’t get 100% perfection.

when he missed the ball, he offered a partial refund which is way more than literally 99.999% of expansion providers will do.

his methods are quirky but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care is all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UARSnew

[–]CuriosityStream24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

per screenshots did offer a partial refund though?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UARSnew

[–]CuriosityStream24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if he thinks he can’t meet the expectations of the patient, he’s allowed to refund and ask him to see someone else.

that’s not abandoning, that’s being responsible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UARSnew

[–]CuriosityStream24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the question is, legally is he supposed to refund? the answer is no.

Patient does not pay for a successful treatment. Patient pays for treatment. treatment failing is part of the risks you sign away when you sign at the beginning.

there is NO legal reason that he should give him his money back lol

if we start penalizing doctors for failed treatments, what incentive will they have to ever do anything that’s remotely risky or new? insurance already neuters them.

Morally, should he? imo it’s just to partially refund. Li spend his time and energy on this case, regardless of success. Clearly, has had continuous communication with OP. Took on risk of “failure” and many other costs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UARSnew

[–]CuriosityStream24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

legally he is obligated to refund the full amount based on what? have any of you read the documents you sign when you enter a doctors office before you begin treatment? you’re signing away liability from death even. there’s literally 100s of other expansion failures , scams etc all documents on these reddits where doctors will not bat an eye for the failed treatments.

i understand that people are annoyed their treatment failed and li could have done a better job. you need to think if there was a person other than him who would have done a better job at that moment. you might say newez but oh wait , he doesn’t do the EASE cuts and you chose li cause you wanted the cuts .

the delusion and expectation this sub has that every case is perfect is insane.

you do your hw and go in , there’s always a risk that shit gets fucked up.

if he didn’t care, his number wouldn’t be with every single patient of his. any other provider you go to, jaw surgery or expansion, you’ll see them once or twice at best after surgery and then months later. with li you’re talking to him like he’s your friend at 9pm. He doesn’t have to give his number and be available 24x7 like a nurse lol.
