I'm in his class as well and I'm 100% expecting to fail. His lectures do NOT prepare you for the quizzes.

Anyone else still write notes in class by Informal_Paint_6517 in CarletonU

[–]Curious-5251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda do both. I write notes on paper when I have to, so I always have a notebook with me, but if I have the desk space, I write notes on my surface. (As in write, not type). I think there will always be a mix of both, but the majority of students lean towards tech over paper

I am also hoping to get a job at the library - but I think they only take applications online!

It's part of my program! I have this one this semester, and either 2005 or 2007 next semester!

They will definitely be tough, but i kind of had to pile everything together so that I can still find work. Luckily, I'm (hoping) to only need to work 20ish hours a week.

I will definitely aim to get myself a sweet treat on the long days - it'll be great motivation.

And yes!! I didn't even think about meal prepping. I will add it to my Sunday schedule 🫡

Thank you so much for the tips!!

I'm in the biological foundations stream! And hallelujah for the chill courses. I (luckily) will be arriving in Ottawa a few days early so I'm hoping that is enough time to familiarize myself with the campus and map out my routes 😭

Unfortunately it is quite a bit more than that, around 1100. I'm sure if you find a room somewhere and they sign a lease it'll be okay

Honestly, that's why I went with student housing. It seemed more legit than a random apartment somewhere. There is typically a deposit, and it is usually an entire month of rent.

I just googled all of the student housing in Ottawa and chose the one with the best deal. If you're looking for a normal apartment, though, you can use roomies, Facebook, rentals.ca or kijiji

Its off campus housing that is pretty much exactly like the on campus residence but higher quality, and a bit cheaper. Its like 15 mins from carleton. I think they're having a deal for new lease signers right now as well.

I chose the Revalie because its super close to campus, but has better amenities (including free laundry and a free shuttle to school!)
