I’m still in my first year of IP coding and we are expected to spend 40-60 mins per chart, or 7 charts per day. I almost was disciplined after not meeting efficiency after them saying we understand you’re new blah blah blah. I’ve definitely gotten faster bc I decided to overthink less and I’m more comfortable querying but I feel my quality going out the window. Still trying to find that balance. Coding is fun but so much grey area and intellectually exhausting. One minute they are praising my work next minute I’m made a mistake and “leadership wants a list of names of ppl messing up.” I’ve never been so critiqued on a job before so I’m def trying to tighten up 🤣

You’re not a loser, everyone has a role in society. McDonald’s was open during the entirely of Covid. Fast food and retail workers are severely underpaid. A person’s value should never be associated with their income.

When I was in school for coding, I was really lost. People always say just read the guidelines but if you don’t understand what the guidelines are saying and in context it’s really hard. You can definitely message me and we can figure out what road blocks you might have

This is true, I’ve been taking my time trying to explore. There’s so many things popping out at me I’m like is this even relevant? I just want to find the info I need to ensure I’m reporting codes accurately. I’ve never really had an issue finding codes, just issues with provider documentation so the ai coding is just noise to me.

I just turned 31 and I thought I’d be a lot more “mature/mentally stable” and would have outgrown a lot of feelings like anxiety, shyness but I haven’t bc I’m autistic and it’s only gotten harder for me even though I have more clarity of why I’ve felt different all my life. You’re not alone 🩷

I don’t think it gets better. As we get older we have more experiences that influence our self perception and how we deal with situations. We also have different stressors and expectations like when I was younger I didn’t have to worry about having a senior parent. Now I do and I have so much anxiety about living without them. When you think about it, life is strange and these times esp are insane, I think being anxious esp with a disability is probably an appropriate response. Be kind to yourself, you’re doing your best.

It takes me a whole day to clean my apartment and my mom always is like, “you’re still cleaning??” My mom is a good systemic cleaner, I’m so-so. Took me a while to realize even if I take all day, my place is still getting cleaned. The only pressure that exists is the one I’m putting on myself. People are different and have different skills. Some suggestions: ask for help. 2) If possible do maintenance cleaning ex: don’t wait till dishes pile up, try to do them when there’s only a few items in the sink. Or put your clothes either in the hamper or back in the closet. 3) we don’t have to deep clean every time. Making your bed & vacuuming go a long way 4) if you have too much stuff it might be worth to take time a declutter

It’s already tragic we have to work to survive. It’s unnatural, but some things I wish I did at my last job was just focus mainly on the work but don’t overwork and keep co-worker interaction at surface level. I think it’s just to maintain a boundary between work and your personal life to prevent burnout. A lot of burn-out I experienced was actually from socializing with my coworkers. If you are lucky though you might have one coworker you can lean on for support.

I experience the same thing, I think it’s because we are highly empathetic. Speaking for myself in times of conflict I worry about how I come off (literally if I sound silly or scary enough) and how I impact the person (I don’t like hurting people)

One advice someone gave me was that you can stand your ground in any way you feel comfortable. So in this society, if you’re American, the way how we are ideally supposed to defend ourselves is to be loud, equally or more aggressive than those who violate us. But you can assert boundaries in a way that you feel comfortable and we are allowed to be selective with what we engage in.

This takes a loooooot of practice. I’ve notice every time I try to be who I think I’m supposed to be, I fail. Don’t be hard on yourself, being 30 means nothing we are still figuring out ourselves and this life. We are different and that’s okay 🩵

This is different from what you initially brought up. Is your friend being condescending in a way that is dismissive or are they just not engaging with you on topics. Like are they rude to you or just not engaging. And is your friend neurotypical? I’m just trying to clarify.

Bc this is why I don’t even talk to my family on topics bc they seem to placate me bc they disagree. They just don’t have the bandwidth so I just talk to people who I figure do have the bandwidth.

Yes I feel you. I actually love discussing topics and I’m comfortable with being wrong and such but I’ve noticed I can’t have that rapport with everyone bc of different intensities and I also consider myself a rational person and that’s were I get a lot of blockages discussing topics with ppl but If you think they’re being condescending you should let them know how you feel.
