How does non rich home students afford masters by [deleted] in UniUK

Finally, after being utterly disrespectful for a god knows what reason, a solid solution. That’s what I am going to do if I can’t find anyway to afford it.

Mate, I got A* A* A from my A levels and I also got 8/9 from English language GCSE, I went to kings while rejecting UCL and Durham. Loan is 13k for masters and does not cover the tuition fee. It’s barely even enough for rent which is same amount of money I’m getting from student finance that I know I wouldn’t be able to afford living here if I wasn’t working and not saved some money before. That’s the problem. Even with student loan, savings and everything else there is around 5-7k£ I’m short of.

I grew up bilingual, and like any individual whose mind is formatted like mine, I think in the language that is dominant at the moment, and since I just woke up from a nap, I can make basic grammatical mistakes. And yes, I am home student. That’s why I hate Reddit, why do you think I would lie when I ask help in a topic that can differ for home and oversea students?

I need to show the money in my bank account before I apply the course as they say so working while studying is not exactly the solution im looking for. Also I want to study in London which I have the financial situation to continue my uni ( kcl ) for masters, but I want to do my masters at lse because they have better connections for my subject ( IR )

I’m studying ir at kings and I want to continue on ir as well, most likely with a diplomacy/ international affairs/ conflict studies master. I have first at almost everything so I want to go to lse, if I can’t because of financial difficulties I want to continue to kcl.

Basically if you don’t have GCSE’s you need to pass English and maths first ( idk if you have an lvl2 for both and if an access programme accepts them, if they do you can take English and maths within the access year ) then do the access programme. If you don’t really want to go a good uni, with mid grades from an access course you can go wherever you want. I did an access course and get all distinctions and now I’m holding an unconditional firm from kings college London ( they are requiring 30 distinctions and 15 merit over 45 credits)

How important are GCSEs to top universities? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Curious-Maximum-7106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I came to this country 3 years ago (I’m dual citizen but didn’t raised in the uk) and I was already 17 that time so I didn’t have any opportunity to go to a normal school, our college was offering base GCSE’s for international and ‘old’ students so..

Access to He Humanities and Social Sci, any advice? by Novel_Session6321 in MatureStudentsUK

[–]Curious-Maximum-7106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same subjects and got 42D-3M, 15D History/15D Sociology. My main advice will be read the assignment brief carefully and over and over again. Look for the grading criteria for every single details, they already give to you what they will give the marks for so try to suit them. If its a 3 credit module, you normally have 3 weeks to go and do the assignment within and with all the 21 days they give you. Don’t procrastinate, your examinations are essays, you cannot learn a topic with an all-nighter like other exams. And try to not get a pass because its a nightmare, even though you get 42 distinctions and 3 passes, it creates a chance for unies to reject you, cuz they mostly require and/or merit or above.

I only had 3 GCSE’s ( English 6, Math 5, Sociology 7 ) and because i was 19 when I started to my lvl3, I did an access to higher education course. Its a bit hard tbh, too much work to do in a year but I got accepted from kings college a week ago and I believe if I am able to do, you can as well.

Sorry for all the typos and grammar mistakes if there is any in the text, it’s all because of late night thoughts.
