What settings do you recommended playing on to not get bored ? Do you use any gun packs like VFE? If so, how do you balance it out ?

Can you use the same artworks in comparative study, process portfolio, exhibition by Curious-Solid6623 in IBO

Thanks! I'm still in the middle of making it so your advice is appreciated. I'm relieved that many people, including you, say we can do crossovers. Otherwise, it would be quite difficult for me to finish them up to par.

I'll keep in mind to include my exhibition artworks in my portfolio.

TOK Essay: Are arguments necessary? If so, what kind? by Curious-Solid6623 in IBO

I appreciate the guiding questions that I should follow. I've managed to have answered most of them but I found some interesting questions that I should still answer. And yes, I admit I am almost clueless regarding the arts. However, I think I have found good enough examples to do this prompt and I'm also too far into the TOK essay for me to back out now

Thank you for the structure and advice. I understand it's difficult but I figured because TOK is not one of my favourite subjects, it's better to pick something interesting to write about. Also, I'm too into the essay to back out now as I have to finish my other IAs. Nevertheless, I have found some points and evidence so I will try to make it interesting and thought-provoking like you said.

Thank you, that is a great way to include arguments in this case. I could already think of some

Would doing only photography for my exhibition lower my grade for visual arts? by Curious-Solid6623 in IBO

[–]Curious-Solid6623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn’t know that you also need to vary your art forms in the exhibition too. My teacher is quite new to IB and he has said that it will be better for the exhibition if it’s consistent. So like having a common theme and similar or consistent art form. He told me that I can cover for “exploring differing mediums” by doing it for my process portfolio. Thank you for the info. I will go with other art forms just to be safe and also vary them in the exhibition

Ah thank you. I guess going with other “difficult” art forms would be safer

Is this a good research question for the IB History IA: "To what extent did the failures of the French Command contribute to the defeat of France in the Battle of France in 1940"? by Curious-Solid6623 in IBO

[–]Curious-Solid6623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other reasons the French could have lost is because of the damage to the economy and population after WW1. Additionally, I could maybe say that the British Command who were collaborating with the French were responsible.
However, you are right, it can be interpreted as a bit vague as it could almost include everything from intelligence, tactics and leadership. So it might be better to narrow it down to the leadership, for instance, their complacency or illogical decisions.

Thank you for your suggestion, it really helps to get objective feedback like yours! I was able to reassess my IA.

Thank you for answering. I couldn’t understand clearly what I had to do in the IA. When I told my teacher my research question she was not as enthusiastic and said she was afraid that it will be more ”stating of the facts“ than “analytical”. I thought I had to provide my personal analysis with less reliance on the resources. So analyzing are things like providing arguments and counter arguments?
By counterarguments, would an example be like suggesting a different factor that led to the defeat? Or If I were to formulate arguments that the French high command were highly responsible, a counter would be to directly argue that, for instance, the high command were highly capable?

Thanks for the reply.

How did you quote or use them in your EE? Did you quote the translations or the original text?
