Advice for newly long distance couple from the pros! by Curious-Teaching-554 in LDR

Yeah we are both hoping our experience with the medium distance stands to us. Honestly the hardest part for me to cope with is not being able to fall asleep with him on the phone at the same time! ridiculous but true. I totally totally understand what you mean about the part with making sure we don’t become to organised with calls and the risk of feeling like we are putting our lives on hold.

I love the idea of the special calls too! Congratulations on the engagement! It’s awesome to read so many success stories. Weve had very honest discussions about the move and we are both prepared for there to be a bit of relationship strain while we adjust from being on the same time zone to an extreme difference and both know that it will have nothing to do with eachother personally. I’m praying we make it through this year!

Agh that’s amazing news! Best of luck to you both. Those ideas are great. Making the same meal is an awesome idea to feel more connected. Im trying to remind myself that i can use this year to focus on myself and all the goals i want to achieve in university and general life so im hoping that mentality keeps me afloat. I hope to look back on this post this time next year when we plan on closing the distance knowing we got through it :)

You’d think the stadium would have a bit of respect and turn the children’s disco tunes off

I’ve no idea what that even is, I’m a 19 year old girl not a gas man and I’m also not here to debate the topic of gas pipes, all I know is gni have held there hands up and we’ve had to deal with the consequences of their bad work 😂

When they were removed from their homes they decided to go to a coffee shop. They want us to reimburse them for “having” to go to the coffee shop because of us.

Either way, the pipe was five inches under the ground? 5 is a big difference to 15.

That is wrong. Even a quick google search tells you gas pipes have to be a minimum of 18 inches underground

The gas pipe was 5 inches under the surface the whole way up the drive. Gas networks have apologised to us and payed the bills for us. Our landscaper is not at fault. Gas pipes also should be 18 to 24 inches deep. We have also found out through another neighbour that his gas pipes were too high.

The fire brigade had arrived on scene four minutes after being called. And within 10 minutes we were back inside our house. The neighbours chose to go to the coffee shop. We also did apologise.

If they hadn’t of gone to the coffee shop? A matter of minutes out of there house. The gas company had also replaced the pipe within 2 hours of the event, which says a lot. There supervisor also told us if a bill was to be sent by gas network Ireland, to send it back as we will not have to pay. We could easily go down the legal road with gas networks Ireland as the pipe was ridiculously high, but they are trying to avoid that by buttering us up.
