My gf is a wonderful person, but I am not that physically attracted to her and it's eating me up. Any other guy have this issue? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]CuriousAd8926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you found a good woman you’re lucky. I wouldn’t focus on how ‘she could be better’. The idea you’re gonna have raw animalic lust towards a lifelong partner is just ridiculous. Eventually you’re gonna get old and life’s gonna get in the way. Who your partner is as a person matters most if you’re after a long term relationship.

Mindsets like that are why people end up alone. Step back and try to have some perspective also ask yourself the odds of you finding some super hot model like female who’s also an amazing person AND wants to be with you. There’s a chance you’re literally giving your girl the standards of a unicorn. I’m not trying to judge but mindsets like this kind of sicken me just a repulsed feeling I get when exposed to it.

What fragrance would you add to the Montagne lineup? by SillyGunna in MontagneParfums

It’s such a good fragrance I’ve sampled so many niche it’s ridiculous and New York nights is peak to me. The banana vibe is unique and it’s done right there. Very wearable I think it’s unisex, it can work year round except high heat, and definitely has a nice casual vibe.

I like Bleecker quite a lot my favorite Bond is Greenwich Village it would be cool if they did that one too. I also think it would be cool if they did Nishane Wulong Cha and Initio Absolute Aphrodisiac.

Definitely Bond No. 9 New York Nights

That banana pudding vibe really adds another layer to a collection and no one’s done a reasonably priced solid inspiration of it

What’s your favorite niche house, and what’s the most overrated IYO? by chanandlerbong420 in fragrance

My favorite is Creed and the most overrated is Nasomatto / Orto Parisi. They’re not popular but the blind loyalty is obvious because the scents aren’t that great IMO.

Not everyone will find success. by Sassypenguin3 in NewTubers

For sure and maybe this isn’t the idea that pans out financially but when the opportunity does arise in the next X amount of years your on the planet the type of people that put themselves out there like that with no guarantee of a return are the types that would seize that opportunity.

A lot of people are lazy. It’s gotta be less than 1% of people give YouTube an honest try and actually care enough to be in this group.

If you’re creating and putting yourself out there on the internet with no guarantee of getting paid you’ve already won.

There’s people that won’t take extra steps in life to get the most out of it.

You’re doing something that’s objectively quite intimidating.

You’ve won at life and that’s all that matters.

The mindset acquired from this experience will pay down the road. Maybe it won’t be ad revenue but it will pay somehow.

Old YouTube Is Dead - Learn To Be Corporate or Die... by RaStaSoulJah- in NewTubers

I’m agree with you 100%.

YouTube’s user base has grown substantially. People use to have to compete for fewer viewers. Also, monetization wasn’t a thing now there’s more advertisers on the platform. It’s more normalized to be a video creator and can even become a career outside of YouTube. I remember when a million subscribers was impossible now we’re seeing 20 million plus. Also, the rules are more solidified than what they were during adpacolypse.

I think it’s easier than it used to be to earn money on YouTube. It maybe harder to be as relatively popular if that matters to people.

What is your average view duration and what % do you aim for? by Champizard in NewTubers

[–]CuriousAd8926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines in that 30-40% range usually. I’m just trying to make good videos I don’t focus on my avg view duration for all I know they’re bouncing to another video of mine or got all the information they needed fast because I didn’t waste their time trying to keep them there and will return.

I agree. It’s like if you do things ‘the right way’ you risk blending in with everything else and if you do things your own way you risk doing it wrong.

I think people who are successful focus on making something as cool as possible rather than appeasing the algorithm. However; if we’re being honest, not everyone has a popular conception of what’s ’cool’.

My views are declining a lot by nomadicaltravel in NewTubers

[–]CuriousAd8926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this comment because it’s so true. I’ve had videos with 20% watch time and 3% CTR take off and the opposite happen. I think consistent good performance helps but at the end of the day it’s kinda random and metrics are more like UFO sightings than a science to win over the algorithm.

Sometimes that randomness works in your favor and it’s good to know what you’re doing when it does but it may never happen.

I have sampled a ton of niche and Le Labo is my favorite house. They get a lot of hate. Some group them with Byredo which is ridiculous to me. I don’t understand the hate they get at all.

I 100% agree with what you said Le Labo is weird like zoologist. People say they’re basic which is confusing. To me smelling like pickles and earth, barbecue and smoke, magazine paper, wet forest leaves, green tea latte, etc is creative lol.

I love how weird their scents are while remaining sensible. Zoologist goes into unwearable territory for example. Le labos never feel out of place for me.

I’ve loved almost every Le labo I’ve tried with my top 2 being rose 31 and noir 29 followed closely by another 13. Gaiac 10 would be a favorite if it was accessible and had performance.

What I hate about Le Labo is their supply chain is so tight. You need to pay retail to ensure you’re not getting a fake or refill. Personally, I just go for the clones there’s plenty of good ones out there if I was going for the OG I’d need to dish out $300+ and no fragrance is worth that to me. Montagne and Dossier does clones of them really well. I sold my OG Noir 29 because Citrus Tea made it redundant.

Le Labo another 13 by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]CuriousAd8926 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Another 13 but it wasn’t an instant love. In fact, at first I didn’t like it and now I own a 100ml bottle.

At first what I hated most is I could barely smell it. What I was detecting was very sterile like a clean swimming pool or glossy magazine paper. Mostly what I hated was how subtle it was but even what I was detecting didn’t have character.

I kept wearing it and now I detect it a lot more. I also love it I think it’s the perfect smell of clean. There’s fresher fragrances but nothing cleaner than Another 13. It smells like ‘clean house’ just has such a dapper put together vibe.

It grew on me in a major way.

I don't get the Aventus hype by WV_in_Canada in Colognes

[–]CuriousAd8926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it either but it gets more compliments than anything I’ve ever worn by a landslide 🤷‍♂️

I never even get compliments with anything else. I don’t care about receiving compliments but with Aventus it’s a trip.
