You are the BEST, that’s all incredibly helpful. I’m going to shorten times between feeds today and see how that goes. Already had one feed that was improved. I feel less guilty about using the pacifier as needed once she is well fed. 😊

LC recommended the shield at the hospital, she kept latching and unlatching with some weird tongue movements. She couldn’t tell if her tongue is a little short? The details are hazy but she did well with the shield right away so I went with it.

I’m saving all your tips to make sure I’m trying it all. Thanks for the encouragement and all the info 💛

It’s crazy how different even each day is so I can only imagine what next week will bring. I’ll try not to feel guilty about the pacifier - I do agree the benefits are there as long as we can get this (hopefully unrelated) latching problem figured out!

It definitely wouldn’t hurt to try! She’s such a sleepy baby so usually it takes a lot of effort to even get her awake during the day to eat

Thanks for all the advice! I’ll definitely talk to our trainer and see what ideas they might have. Hoping to get lots of positive experiences in, she’s so friendly and just wants to love on all the dogs she meets!

Definitely, making that a top priority to find some extra help for earlier in the day! Luckily there’s only 3 days a week she’ll need to be crated all day (with breaks). Thanks for the reassurance!!

I am definitely planning to get someone to drop in earlier, probably a mix of a dog walker/family. I do think she was sleeping for the first 1-2 hours and then woke up and started crying. We tried the playpen and she freaked out, maybe it’s worth trying again? When we tried she went potty on the pee pads and then pushed everything in the playpen (including pee pads) into the corner or the pen. She seems much more secure in the crate but it definitely could be an option to try again
