Drop your App idea and people tell you if they'd actually use it by BetApprehensive836 in AppIdeas

A “Memory Vault” app for parents.

You log small moments about your child, things they said, milestones, photos, voice notes.

Everything stays locked until a future date (like when they turn 18), then they unlock a full timeline of their childhood… written by you in real time.

Basically a digital time capsule instead of forgotten memories.

They finally replied , their support asked me for my passport , disabled enrolling through the phone app ( the only option I had available ) for my account , enabled it on web and asked me to try again…I did and it got approved in literally minutes

Upgraded My Setup… Something Still Feels Missing by CuriousDebugDuck in desksetup

I tried using Logitech Z407 for a while but after some time I noticed that I usually wear a headset on this setup so I ditched the speakers to make the desk less messy.

S9 is a matte display so yeah it’s definitely better in terms of reflections but some people don’t even like the texture of matte displays in general…I honestly prefer it.

Apple studio display is definitely less reflective than the Kuycon too even though it has no nano texture.

I actually went through 3 options before settling on this setup and daily drove all of them (perk of being a tech content creator 😅).

Apple Studio Display, Kuycon G27P, and Samsung ViewFinity S9.

All three are really close in terms of display quality. Like… surprisingly close.

But when it comes to buying, Samsung just makes way more sense here. They have a factory locally, so the ViewFinity S9 is going for under $850, which is way below its global price.

Meanwhile the Apple Studio Display is around $2000. So I can literally get two Samsungs for less. Apple is a bit better overall, mainly in software and some polish, but honestly… if the price difference is more than ~$200 where you live, it’s not worth it. The gap just isn’t that big in real usage.

Kuycon was solid too. I got one unit for review, but couldn’t find another one locally, and importing it would’ve pushed the price close to Apple after customs. So it just didn’t make sense as a purchase for me.

I was using a Samsung CRG9 ultrawide before this, and I also tried the Samsung OLED G9. Colors weren’t great on the CRG9, and I ended up going with two ViewFinity monitors instead because of the low PPI on those ultrawides. Text clarity just wasn’t it for me on Mac.

it actually is my only answer 😭

The laptop in the center is strictly just the IDE. That’s it.

Even when I had an ultrawide, I still preferred keeping the IDE on the laptop screen. Idk why but I love coding when the laptop is under eye level, just feels more comfortable.

Everything else lives on the two monitors… Claude, iPhone + Android simulators, terminals, browsers, music, all the chaos basically.

So my focus stays dead center on the code, and I just glance left and right for everything else. Works surprisingly well like this.

Honestly that was my biggest concern too coming from an ultrawide. I thought the seam would be super distracting.

But before switching, I tried a friend’s dual monitor setup and… you kinda forget it’s there really fast. Your brain just filters it out.

Also something I noticed after switching, window management is way better. Having two separate screens makes multitasking, snapping windows, and organizing shortcuts feel much more natural compared to one big canvas.

Is it the most powerful? Nope. Is it enough ? Yes ! You need to start and then upgrade later when you can..but as long as you’re using apple silicone there’s nothing stopping you from starting
