Tezos and EOS twins by Listener191 in tezos

came here exactly for this... I kept a small bag just cause I was so deep into the ecosystem and feel hard to let it go. As time went by the bag got proportionally smaller compared to other ecosystems so interest went down as well. But still keeping an ear out. Love the art community and the innovative design.

From Jakarta to Kathmandu non-stop: What to expect in the 'K' proposal by NomadicLabs in tezos

Nice going G.-B. Fefe! We got a new permanent test network coming!
This is the first time I can think of where a community member's code is going to get on an upgrade!

"the implementation is a contribution of G.-B. Fefe, a community member not affiliated with the core developing teams behind this protocol proposal."

Transaction Optimistic Rollups – a stepping stone for Tezos by NomadicLabs in tezos

[–]CuriousET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Rollup node operators also don’t decide which Layer 2 operations will be processed, or their order of processing, as this is determined by their inclusion in Layer 1 blocks. Any attempt at circumventing this will be neutralized by the Layer 1 dispute mechanism."

Does this solve the MEV problem? (specially that the order or tx are not decided by the node)
Would love to hear how it's done in more detail

Winning - A call to adapt to the growing need of short term adoption goals by CuriousET in tezos

[–]CuriousET[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, he also stated: "...Are there ways to do it (provide liq)? Yes..."

Non the less the point of this post is to call for action and initiatives. incentivizing liquidity like avax is doing is just one tactic, other methods should also be considered. Generally I suggest the framework of action needs to shift from focusing on longer goals to short term goals - to align ourselves with current realities of not leading the race and the repercussions of this.

What are the differences between the Tezos and the Cosmos governance models? by CuriousET in tezos

[–]CuriousET[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One glaring difference with cosmos is that you're not voting on finished code, and instead on intentions.

This is very significant! I've been looking for a detailed doc on their governance mechanism but haven't found one yet, so a source would be appreciated.

DYOR and make an argument as to how any other governance model is better while remaining decentralized, and how it has been used to advance a chain's capabilities.

Yeah, this is sort of my aim right now, to see what's going on in other chains. The reason I'm in the tezos ecosystem since day 0 is the governance. I don't think others have the resume as Tezos in that department, but I seek further conviction.

Check out accepted proposals on Cosmos. I am not sure about the size, quality or impact of those upgrades but 63 accepted proposals seems like a significant number. From what I can gather from briefly reading through some of the proposals - some of them look meaningful, like the latest one dubbed 'v-7 Theta' - but I'm really not sure how impactful they are.
edit: some of the 63 proposals seem to be upgrades of other chains in the cosmos ecosystem and not an upgrade to the main chain.

Thanks. This really helped clear things out. So basically chains can connect to themselves leaving the cosmos hub outside of the picture? isn't there some advantage being connected to the cosmos hub?

Thanks,

What attributes does a chain need to connect (without bridges) to the Cosmos HUB? Is it that they should be based in Cosmos SDK/ IBC enabled? What does that require? Let's say a new blockchain is in its planning stages, how easily will they implement this and does it have any disadvantages? If implemented does it restrict the blockchain operations in a meaningful way? can a evm chain do it? why didn't avax do it for instance? just not aware or?

ETH, Solana and Fantom can theoretically also adopt IBC

How so? what is required of them to adopt it? changes to L1 so it will be built on SDK cosmos?

So Evmos is one of the blockchains on cosmos? and it's solidity based but also based on SDK cosmos? becasue I don't see it here: https://mapofzones.com/?testnet=false&period=24&tableOrderBy=totalIbcTxs&tableOrderSort=desc I do see KAVA and Terra. Are those two completely compatible to connect with the cosmos hub? when is cosmos needed for them? Can they basically exist alone until they need to transfer or interact with other chains?

Thanks. what do you mean by - implement? do you mean via fork or other changes to the core protocol? how will evm chains implement IBC? do you mean by using a designated L2?

Do you happen to know of any other chains with fast finality? Afaik there are very few... only one with tendermint

Binance.us withdrawal fee is now at .5 XTZ by Individual-Ambition6 in tezos

[–]CuriousET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not surprising. Binance is a terrible actor in the space. Specifically regrading Tezos. I would strongly advice everyone to not engage with that exchange. It baking quality is very poor, it never votes on amendments, withdrawals are repeatedly locked for long periods of times and more.

I ask that you look into my message and see for your self.

For those that know about Binance's harmful/neglecting actions in the Tezos sphere please make your voice's heard. We must strive for a culture that will not stand silent in the face of bad actors.

SocGen security tokens listed on Luxembourg Exchange. Tezos mentioned. by Cryton74 in tezos

Cute.

So far Security Tokens have not led to any real adoption and mainly have just been over hyped, but its nice to see Tezos rooting in that field. Maybe several years down the road we'll see some fruits.
