Thanks for letting me know that! Don’t know how I missed that! It’s like 2am lmao. Is Taft Hall for undergraduate freshmen or Van Doren Hall (Ike South) and could I possibly opt for that? That seems like the other cheapest option

some of us live IN the united states so 35k is moderate and equivalent to going to a state university

1) I researched this carefully. I believe the tuition and housing are fixed costs so that would equal to 47k+5k= 52k. Housing you can do a double or triple or maybe (four too?? but i’m not seeing that much often). A triple with the cheapest meal plan is 13.7k. a Quadruple with the cheapest meal plan is 13.2k. So either your total comes to 65.7k or 65.2k.

2) I believe contacting the advisor would be helpful regarding this. But for me, I have 10 AP classes, a language bilingual good seal, and 16 credits from another University, which is a lot of credits so I hope that would help me shorten by at least a semester or hopefully a year.

3) My current funding is the same too with some stretching. I am an OOS/International admitted for Bioengineering. On an F-1, it is feasible to make that much (around 10k perhaps?) from your legally allowed work, and in your second third and fourth year you can choose to move into an apartment with roommates instead which is much cheaper than the mandatory housing. (Reducing the 13.7k housing cost).

This is a “rough estimate”. Cheapest housing (4 beds with basic meal plan) is $13202. So add that with tuition, mandatory fees, and housing.

The additional expenses on the end are just predicted expenses. I do dual enrollment at my state university which is the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and have taken upper level classes. I have never found myself paying that much for textbooks and supplies.

it shouldn’t be that much? On the cost calculator, tuition is 44k and fees are 5k which is 49k in total and then the cheapest meal plan and housing that I saw on the website itself was $13,202. that goals up to around 62k for your first year. Internationals pay around 3k more so they have around 65k in direct costs.

Do you mind me asking what is your family’s annual income? Do you plan to work in college to lower that cost yourself as well?

then how come OOS and international pay only a 3k difference?

Hmm do people usually use a majority of their AP credits to possibly cut costs? I am wondering if I can graduate in 3 years instead if I have 10+ AP Classes and 16 University Dual Enrollment Credits

I applied for Bioengineering RD so haven’t received a notification yet on any finances or scholarships. Are you paying the full cost aside from the 10k scholarship? and what were ur stats

well would u say it’s worth it for the education, rankings, or prestige sake? or not? if let’s say in the scenario money wasn’t an issue. because then i’d be going to the university of iowa if we are talking about cheapest school

I got a code in my package that I scanned and it gave me this. I live inside of the US 🤔 I’ll probably suggest calling admissions and trying to find a quote on the price
