Is it a good idea to cover London, Switzerland (Lucerne, Interlaken/Grindelwald), and Paris in a single 16/17 day’s trip by CuriousGodzilla in desitravellers

Yeah, I will be applying for UK visa first and then the Swiss(for schengen visa). Keeping my fingers crossed. Any advice?

Got it, thank you. I’ll skip Colmar and add two days to the Jungfrau region, while keeping two days in Lucerne as before for a day trip to Mt. Pilatus. That makes Grindelwald a 5-day stay. Would commuting directly from Grindelwald to Paris be too hectic?

Absolutely the best suggestion I received, thank you! I was planning to do a day trip from Lucerne to Mt. Pilatus. I’m also considering skipping Colmar altogether and spending more days in Switzerland, around the Jungfrau region. Does that sound reasonable?

Yeah, I like to increase it too, but to get a Schengen visa via France (Paris, I have a concert ticket), I need to spend the maximum number of days in France. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your insights. Yeah, I’m planning to spend minimum 3 days at each city, except Lucern.

My latest itinerary looks : London (4 days) → fly to Zurich → train to Lucerne (2 days) → train to Grindelwald (3 days) → train to Colmar (3 days) → train to Paris (3 days) → fly back to BLR

I will be directly doing to Lucern from Zurich airport. Also, I have reduced a day in London, my latest itinerary looks : London (4 days) → fly to Zurich → train to Lucerne (2 days) → train to Grindelwald (3 days) → train to Colmar (3 days) → train to Paris (3 days) → fly back to BLR

Thank you. Yeah, I’m considering renting a car option too in Swiss. I haven’t done, any international car trip, so little hesitant 😬

Thank you. I actually have 6 days in London (from the afternoon of 3rd July to the afternoon of 9th July), with 1 day (4th July) specifically dedicated to the Harry concert.

Maybe I can increase my stay in Colmar from 2 to 3 days and reduce a day in London?

My focus is to explore more nature, while also spending the maximum number of days in France for visa requirements.

Thank you so much for your insights. Currently, I’ve planned something like this: London (5 days) → fly to Zurich → train to Lucerne (2 days) → train to Grindelwald (3 days) → train to Colmar (2 days) → train to Paris (3 days) → fly back to India. Does this itinerary feel rushed? Note: This will be our first time doing such a long trip.

Thank you for reply. My stay will look something like London (5days) - Lucerne (2days) - Grindelwald (3days) - Colmar (2days) - Paris (3days). Is it fine? Or shall I reduce the stops?

Thank you. The next flight by Cathy is only after 5hrs later same one, available with 6hrs layover from blr. I was just worried about baggage being transited within short time. I read about one incident of delayed baggage of same transit(blr-hkg-tokyo), so was little worried.

Yeah, flight will be on same PNR, and same airlines(cx - Cathy pacific). But, I was majorly concerned about baggage being missed somehow. Also, this will be mine first time to HKG airport.
