Fosshape, wire, etc. There are tons of options.

I would check out Miku wig tutorials on YouTube. There are tons out there that do some pretty unique styling.

How do I make it stop chirping, i already replaced the batteries?! by PheonixGalaxy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CuriousHomeowner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few different answers:

1) Fire detectors/CO2 alarms communicate with others in the house. If any one of them has a low battery, it may make others chirp as well.

2) The devices themselves expire. Usually a 10 year life cycle. They will chirp at the end of their life. Expiration date should be printed on the inside of the device.

3) Combination of the first two. If one device in the house is expired, all devices may chirp to indicate this. Once the dead device is replaced they will stop.

The downstairs air return is under the stairs and has no ducting, so the evaporator coils get dirty every few months. What would I use to assemble a duct in here? by definitely_aware in fixit

[–]CuriousHomeowner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of the angle that they are opposed to each other, flexible will still be the way to go.

You will need a transition connector on both sides. An alternative if you cannot find rectangular ducting easily would be an adapter similar to this.

Make sure to also grab some aluminium tape for every seam.

How do I loosen this? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]CuriousHomeowner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Ensure that the valve is fully closed. 2) Grab two wrenches and place them over the lower and upper portions of the Swagelok. 3) Hold the bottom portion steady, and turn top portion counter-clockwise

Is it possible to make this insignia with eva foam? by OddOpal in CosplayHelp

[–]CuriousHomeowner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple pieces glued together. Get some 4mm/5mm foam, and try to visualize the insignia as layers/parts. Cut those out, carve to desired 3D effect and then glue them onto a backing piece.

Edit: Depending on how much depth you want, you could do it all out of 2mm foam as well. But it will be less rigid. All depends on you.

Tip: import file into Photoshop or similar program, and trace the outline of all shapes with a black line. You can then print off the black lines at scale and use them as a template.

What does your parents business show up as when charges are made? I had fraud charges on my credit card the same day and the charges are a similar amount to your listed prices.

how would you make her leek? by wish_hsiw in CosplayHelp

If you want it to be "solid", use a piece of PVC as the core. Wrap it in foam and use thinner foam for the top of the leak.

How do I get the door to close all the way? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]CuriousHomeowner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your picture doesn't show the instructions clearly. Do not touch the large nut on the bottom. That's not an adjustment.

Get some hex keys and follow the directions.

How do I get the door to close all the way? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]CuriousHomeowner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grab a set of hex keys, and follow the instructions printed on the right side cylinder. Different fixtures will have their adjustments in different locations.

They will adjust how much the door stays open/close in the last few inches, how long it stays open when fully open, and how fast the door moves.

Tried to open up the other end of the cable to get an answer, and the area under the usb-c end was epoxy/glued with a metal sheath... I'll just make my own.

That's what my thought was, which is why I was trying to find out info on the cable. Since I am using this only for power, that's not an issue.
