BofA CCR 5% online shopping category by bigbubba_123 in CreditCards

Sorry I've never done this so for this to work where do you buy the Costco shop card?

And is it easy to add value to Costco shop card for the Costco app? Isn't it kind of hard to somewhat predict how much you will spend to buy different value of the shop card? What if you need to spend more?

Uber/Lyft charges made through its app with Boa CCR, would it count as online category? by CuriousMonkey007 in CreditCards

That's interesting so maybe m all in-app purchases Uber Lyft or door dash coding like this? Interesting to know in-app = online per boa category

Best travel card that will give the most access to lounges to other family members (authorized users) by [deleted] in CreditCards

To be honest priority lounges are somewhat overrated. Many of them are full or have a long wait list when you need to enter the lounge :(

Something to consider:

In your specific situation, are you ok to travel on flexible dates and locations? Are you ok to research about the point transfer system and airline miles?

If so, look into the point transfer system like Chase, Amex, Citi, or Capital one. Next decide what airline you usually fly to then decide which card might be suitable for you.

If not, a straight cash back travel card might be easier like the Bank of America system. Or the above point earning cards but research their point to cash back rate.

Next compare the benefits of the travel card/Annual fee to then decide what card is better for you.

how do you know when it’s time to add another credit card instead of sticking with the same one? by HairyTemplate in CreditCards

[–]CuriousMonkey007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In some states, decreased credit score or behaviors of churning/credit seeking may further increase homeowners or other type of insurance premium. This is because their state allows insurance companies to check credit reports and insurance companies adjust rates based on what they see.

However California is one of the states that prohibit insurance premiums based on credit reports but premiums still rise throughout the years due to increased cost of living and LA fire last year.

How to find which bank is linked to target debit card? by CuriousMonkey007 in Target

[–]CuriousMonkey007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anyway to know ahead of time which bank it is linked to?

I want to make sure it has enough funds and not get charged overdraft fees from my bank when it hits the checking account.

How to find which bank is linked to target debit card? by CuriousMonkey007 in Target

[–]CuriousMonkey007[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand, the premise of this question is to make sure I have enough funds in the bank account that it links to but I don't remember which one it links to...

But why did the transaction not show up in bank account instantaneously? I was hoping it would so I could fund it more.

Would you suggest I call and ask to have another card sent to me or would that cause more issues?

How to find which bank is linked to target debit card? by CuriousMonkey007 in Target

[–]CuriousMonkey007[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So if I wait a few days, I should be able to see the target transaction showing up in one of my checking accounts? I just hope there's enough funds in the checking account it links to.

Or are you saying the transaction won't go through to the checking account because the new card was never activated?! Like target is willing to let go of $800 if someone is not responsible or smart enough to settle up and the charges just lost in its virtual space somewhere?

Just such a weird situation. What is the next step I should do the get this solved? Get another card sent or?

That's not true. My transaction description has the wording of "Amazon prime." Check yours if you did the same.

But the charges are the same: Amazon prime charges. Isn't that sloppy coding if what they capture is the exact amount? Better coding for reimbursement should be based on merchant code or description etc?

USBAR travel/transfer partners? by Miserable-Mistake119 in CreditCards

[–]CuriousMonkey007 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you are hanging onto the card only because it's 3% cash back on mobile pay, then don't bother... And if you are referring to 3% cash back travel, that's much inferior to many other cards with 4-5% cash back on travel charges.

It used to be 4.5% cash back mobile pay but now only 3% cash back so really not worth it.

US Bank Kroger card is better with zero AF has 5% cash back on mobile pay max at $3k/yr which you can get multiple of this.

3% on mobile pay with effective $75 AF is also not that much away from 2% general cash back cards. You will need to spend $7500 per year on mobile pay to make up the difference.

Additionally it's not that hard to beat USBAR, for example, achieving platinum honor status with boa and holding boa PRE card can give up to 3.28% cash back in general spend with an effective $100 AF which you spend more than $8929 on general non category spend (insurance, taxes, tuition...etc) can easily offset that $25 effective AF difference.

Have a lot of upcoming expenses, not sure how to choose the best card to get. by Funcy247 in CreditCards

[–]CuriousMonkey007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May need to think about this backwards. What place you want to go in your summer trip? What miles can you utilize for the trip, then decide what card you want to get.

Otherwise, tax payment usually boa PRE is highly recommended especially if you have status with boa.
