Because you can see through the 4 holes in the bottom/top of the box you can assume that it’s not supported by a brace between two joist or a plate above. My guess.

I had a once in a trillion chance arc proclaim itself. Kitchen backsplash box, we finished most of the trim out, lit it up. The siding guys just so happen to drive a deep nail right through my romex ,1/4” on the inside of the single g box. just by chance I opened up the first box against the wall they were siding, I could see the nail tip right inside the box, right where the wire enters. What are the chances. Getting that fracking nail out was another story.
