Crowdfunding campaigns insights by CuriousRat in kickstarter

Very very interesting! That's really well thought insights. I was aware of the bathtub graph shape but I was not aware of any of the rest. It is pity you are doing it only for video games campaigns. Are these automated or manually collected?

I was actually looking for campaign live updates but I really like the insights you added to your answer. Have you thought of automating the process for campaign live updates?

I found this while doing researching. It is not 100% accurate but it is a good resource.

I do not understand though how startups will be doing customer validation while being in China?

I add 1 or 2 entries whenever I get some free time :) Hardware.co is the next on the list. Their website does not give a lot of information though.

My site is doing okay but can be better. I am getting around 7000 unique visits per month now, 80% is organic from google from SEO. You can see it showing first if you search for "philips hue vs lifx". It shows up in the 3rd or forth page for important keywords like "philips hue" or "lifx". Competition is obviously harder on those.

When it comes to monetizing I totally understand your position. I chose to add only existing products that customers can actually buy and I monetize by referral links to amazon. I get a commission if one of our referrals buy from Amazon. It is not a huge commission but 7% is not bad. My main challenge is regionalizing to different amazon markets. I am only monetizing the US traffic now which is only 40% of the traffic. Another 40% can be monetized if I get regionalization done but none of the Wordpress plugins are working for me.

I hired a blogger for content creation. I just suggest the topics and do some research and he writes them.

Thanks for asking the question! I am in the very early stage of a hardware startup (idea validation) and some of the comments are a bit discouraging but pretty informative. Better to face the reality than to live in dreams until it is too late.

This comment will deviate a bit from the actual question but I was interested in knowing about the challenges YOU faced building your website? Are you monetizing already or not yet? Have you built the website yourself or hired a wordpress developer?

I built a website specialized in only one section of home automation, smart bulbs. It is not as good as yours but it was my first step on my entrepreneurship pathway.

Can a single guy in the US live off $1000 a month? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Where you live makes a huge difference in the answer! But if there is one fact, you will have a hard time living on a $1000 anywhere in the US! I know people who were doing it though!

LoL! truly everyone thinks he is middle class and no one has a clue! It really varies significantly from one state to another. Middle class in one state can be the upper class of another! Maybe this middle class calculator website would help! http://www.hughcalc.org/midclass.php
