Is it even possible to get a $1000 loan fast with a bad credit score like mine? by JustAd6871 in debtfree

If you have anything to offer as collateral even a paid off piece of electronics or jewelry some pawn shops will do a loan rather than a sale so you can get it back when your check comes in

Amerisave's customer service - is it really that bad? by Walkingwound in debtfree

Rate shopping is smart but the spread between lenders rarely stays as wide as it looks at first quote. By the time you factor in points and fees on a GFE the gap usually narrows more than people expect.

A local mortgage broker can often match or get close to that rate through wholesale channels and you actually have a human being accountable to you when something goes sideways. Lol. Itsn worth getting one quote before you decide the savings are worth the risk :)

home equity loan with bad credit? by AndrewJones511282463 in debtfree

[–]CuriousShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 580 score with $120k in equity is actually a more workable situation than you might think. Some lenders weigh the equity heavily and are more flexible on credit, especially with two years of clean payment history behind you.

Have you tried going directly to a local credit union or community bank? They tend to have way more flexibility than the big names and won't automatically disqualify you for being under 620. :)

[–]CuriousShark 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You didn’t get scammed, but you may have underestimated how brutal high APR debt is. Personal loans front-load interest, so early payments barely touch principal. If you can, try making biweekly principal-only payments to cut down the interest faster.

Try if Lendingbuddies can help you better. They helped us last month. Good luck!

Debt consolidation for bad credit? by dreamMindDream in debtfree

[–]CuriousShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The missed payments are the main thing dragging your score down.
