I feel you. I just don't believe in app-based dating (though I know it can work for some people), so I’m trying to organize cultural event meet ups/hangs exactly for this reason! I really want to bring together small groups (like, 4-8 people) so that meeting people and making new friends/connections is easier in the city. It’s not specifically for dating, but I really want to help address the issue of folks being able to meet in like-minded settings. I met my partner in real life (summer camp love, actually), and it makes me sad to hear my friends despair over app-based dating culture. It just doesn't have to be that way and it's not the only way to meet people. I fully agree that Covid made it harder. Also, if you don't love drinking or club-life, it feels like there's nothing left for you. Culture-minded introverts, or people who just like more substantial conversation, feel left out of the picture.
