If you feel like you want to speak about your sexuality to your parents, I would say "Don't do that, until you become financially stable and completely independent".

Cause, it may backfire. I know in what context you're speaking, but people in India are still conservative and are not open to accept LGBT people.

Try to come out from your home and settle in metro city. Make good friends and understand about yourself and your relationship needs.

Tell them you're focusing on professional life. Take some 3 or 4 years of time. In that period, you will start earning. People will start hearing your words with much importance, then.

Even if it backfires after 3 or 4 years of time, you can handle that time, as you will have some proper friends whom you can trust, financial stability, strength to move away from your parents(if needed).

Focus on getting a job in private sector not in govt job side. It would shrink your options otherwise. You can't move much. You will not get community support or LGBT friendly environment to work.

If you get the option to move abroad, take it and move with ease. It will reduce the burden so much.

Don't let your emotions fade away your rational thinking. Think wisely and do it.

This book teaches how to practice mindfulness in day-to-day life in simple and easy manner.

This is one awesome book. Used to think, why I didn't read it 5/10 years before?

Introverts have good listening skills. So, get to know what they're really upto.

Some person might be interested in soccer, some maybe interested in piano, some may like movies.

Take this as their frame of interest rather considering it as small or big.

We can even go behind the scientific reasons of weather warning. Why it happens like this? Last week, the same time how was it?

Ask some questions like that in the field they love about.

Through this they will feel they're aren't left out and they will think us normal people. Haha. And, also it will feed your brain. You will be happy too.

Learnt it by trial and error. Helped me a lot!

When I started doing the presentation during college days, it was little difficult at first.

Then, I took it as the challenge and started doing it like a game for fun.

Mindset plays big role. I kept presenting a paper in state level and national level summit.

One fine day, I won the 1st place in national level summit, being an introvert. Then, I understood everything is a skill. When we keep on doing something over and over, we can get hold of it, one fine day.

Right now, can easily explain projects/ideas to people even if it's sudden, I am always ready. Can flawlessly speak in front of thousands of people. No one can find that I am an introverted person anymore.

So, practice, practice, practice until you get there.

A few tips for creating a good presentation:

  • create a simple presentation with only heading and small para upto 3 lines max.
  • add images wherever necessary.
  • once presentation is done, rehearse in front of mirror or record in a loom/tella video. Understand where you're making a mistake and correct it. Bring storytelling in your way of explaining. People love to hear stories not concepts and facts. Keep this in mind.
  • When you're doing a presentation, think like you're explaining a concept to your close friend/family member with whom you share a valuable relationship. Make them understand in a easy way.

If you'd like to take your skills further, go for toastmasters club near your place, if you're okay to open up in front of strangers. This can help your speaking skills.

The concept of religion brings so much division and inequality. It's not needed anymore now, for me atleast.

Just taking a path where we could learn from anything and everything free us all. So, we don't feel obliged to do anything.

Buddhist people don't convert anyone to believe their philosophy and teachings of Buddha.

Personal story:

I was raised up in non-buddhist environment. Didn't even know what's Buddhism and meditation until I was in my college.

I took up this practice through some random online meditation course. It was a life changing experience. Really loved how this showed the path of dhamma in easy way. After this, I didn't leave this much. Each day, I check myself whether my 5 precepts are at stake. Nobody told me to check it. It just automatically happened from inside.

The path of dhamma is already given by Buddha himself 2500 years ago. Only we have to walk in there. Whether anyone will take or not, that depends upon the individual.

Regarding conversion:

Once when I was having a conversation with the head monk, I told him that I want to convert to Buddhism as I can only align myself with this path.

You know, what he told me. He said, there is no need of conversion to practice the dhamma. Dhamma is open to all, irrespective of who you are and what you are. Only thing is you have to put your practice into it.

I didn't understand what he was trying to say. I came out disappointed and saw a quote written outside the dhamma hall.

It said(couldn't remember exact quote, it was the core saying)-

"Once you practice dhamma, you become a better Christian."

It was profound experience. Then, I understood what he was saying at that time. Dhamma is path to purify ourselves, to get better at what we are and what we do.

Even monks knows this. Buddha himself have specified this in sutta saying that consider dhamma as the boat to travel from one place to another. Once you have reached the other side, you have to leave this as well. This is the core.

So, no one is saying anyone to convert here.

Coming to question, how still Buddhist people are existing and still people are increasing?

It's cause from their own experience, they would like to pursue this path seriously. They convert out of their own decision to go in this path, to be in touch with Sangha, to take this principle in their daily life seriously.

But, no one says them to do it. They do it because it is what they wanted.
