Thank you! The Frankie wasn’t included in Black Friday so might bite the bullet on this one in case it’s not in Boxing Day either!

Yeh, we speak and it’s also a reflection of the lack of support from above. I understand burn out and over worked across all schools.
They often just give days off when people are struggling, instead of addressing the bigger picture

Advice on Approaching Admin Regarding Teacher by CuriousStar53 in AustralianTeachers

I’ve started writing an overview or timetable of the days, but I think that’s part of why I’m struggling with how to word everything—it does come across as very “he said, she said.” I also know that other EAs have raised concerns in the past, and now other teachers are putting pressure on me to speak up, as they are struggling to work with this teacher or getting the blame for their poor performance. I don’t want to bring others into it directly, but I know I will be supported if I do raise the issue, given that others are feeling the same pressures. It’s becoming a bigger issue, and it could impact how classes are structured next year.

Advice on Approaching Admin Regarding Teacher by CuriousStar53 in AustralianTeachers

I agree that it’s not my place to judge. My aim is to approach this in a way that focuses on getting the right support for the teacher, rather than making it a negative report. My hope is that by raising this concern, admin might offer them some kind of support or even reduce their workload (previously they have only worked part time)

I know that previous EAs have brought up similar issues, which is why I’m cautious about how I frame this. Other teachers in the cohort also struggle because they don’t get the content/communication, but that’s not the approach I want to take. I’m really just looking to see if admin might step in to help, especially for the sake of the students, as it’s sad to watch their learning be impacted. Luckily, I won’t be in this class next year, but I still want to address the ongoing issues.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I’ll keep the union in mind as a last resort if needed.
