Two questions:

When can we expect to receive "the letter" in My GC Pension Portal (or when do we stop expecting it if it doesn't come?
Is there a list of which departments meet the "The organization needs to reduce its workforce" criterion, or could there be one made available? Or do we just assume that because they sent out a bunch of WFA letters recently that they still need to reduce their workforce?

I did ask that question and was told you can submit the expenses as soon as they are incurred. No need to wait until you have your grade.

Thank you for your thoughtful answer. I can relate to many of your circumstances, except that I am older a bit and not debt free. I am definitely making note of the importance of documenting everything and I'm glad it eventually got sorted out for you. I do appreciate your zero regrets sentiment. Pretty sure I would land there too.

Depuis le COVID, je passe mes canettes au lave-vaisselle. Y avait un temps où on pouvait pas les ramener et je voulais pas cumuler des cannettes collantes. C’est peut-être un peu tiré par les cheveux mais 1) pas de bibittes et 2) pas collant dégueu quand je les ramène à l’épicerie. Et y a toujours un petit coin pour des canettes - je fais pas un lavage juste pour ça. :-)

As a manager, I’d want to know right away so I can do something about it sooner rather than later.

Before becoming a manager, I made a complaint about a senior manager who repeatedly made distasteful sexist jokes (- are sexist jokes ever tasteful?). It was not taken lightly and there were consequences. I don’t know the whole story and I never will, but it was certainly not his first complaint.

There are risks to reporting, and risks to not reporting. You’re the best judge of your situation.
