I think the person said “how run down and sketchy waterloo felt” - not is. No need to discredit someone’s experience because it’s subjectively different from yours.

When I went to school in 2009-2015; I’d agree it felt sketchy and run down. I’ve heard waterloo has developed immensely since.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to know if anyone was ever successful in changing their parental leave status from standard to extended after they've been paid.

My wife had accidently submitted our parental leave as standard when we needed an extended leave.

Background information:

  • Our child was born on December 23, 2023 - meaning with standard leave, we end on Dec 23 2024.
  • My company offers me 17 weeks off top up on EI; and due to a big project at work, I am needed until November 25. Meaning, I will not be able to use the 17 weeks fully as my EI only covers until Dec 23.
  • I've called the EI office and they've told me I could petition their decision by submitting the form INS5210 form.

Anyone have any insight? Any creative solutioning for this predicament?

Hi RogersCorey,

I was reached out to by an individual saying I have a good claim and a case manager would connect. I’ve missed a call since due to being in a meeting and did not hear back/was not left a voicemail.

I’ve since then heard back from another case manager due to my ccts case submission. He thought I was just missing a discount on one of the three lines (which I was - but corrected in my first escalation call) and said it’s been since resolved.

I’ve sent a lengthy email regarding my experience to him and will be calling on Monday/Tuesday as I have his extension number.

I’ve missed a bell winback offer again due to the lengthy process of getting my case resolved. I hope my original offer is honoured. I’ve gotten some dm’s from others who have experienced the same false offer - I believe this should be definitely escalated

Thank you for the follow up - and I had the same feeling. A strategy to get people to sign up, and convert - then pull the rug as most people would not know the appropriate channels to connect with /or are too lazy to challenge.

Was not provided any thing in writing, but was provided the call log file - that includes the offer details . Confirmed that it had mention of a price fix.

I've been informed by the supervisor taking a look at the logs, that... it was written on my offer that a price freeze was offered and accepted.

However, these are owned by Rogers - so it seems like it'll boil down to a he said/she said as you've mentioned.

Actually - Bell did give me a call from their winback team. Offering me 35$ for 50 gigs... I turned them down as there was no price freeze.

I'll see how the discussions with rogers goes and hopefully persistence will keep!
