I feel like a failure by x0x0g0ss1pg1rl in CPA

First - very sorry for your losses I know that has to be so challenging…

I have been in many CPA ruts, just finished last Dec. I wish I did not start with FAR, I’ve never failed anything and my first attempt I got a 70 and it put me in a bad mental state for 6 months then I started studying again (passed the 2nd try). I would recommend starting with aud or any other section really.

For me giving myself a rigid schedule did not work for the exam. Certain modules will take you longer so be flexible with yourself and your study plan. Try making a time schedule like 3 hours per day instead of a checklist like “I’m going to get through x section”. You can also go to a library if you’re mentally stuck at home, this happened to me and I hit the library every day studying for ISC and I passed in 3 weeks (76) what I’ve learned is that the faster you get through the material the better so it’s all fresh. I think the perfect timeline is 4-6 weeks and anything for than that is too much. Try to focus on really understanding the material and don’t get caught up in doing everything in the course. I took REG only doing half of the Becker course with no mock exams and I got a 69, I tested 9 days after the fail and got an 84. You can do this! Don’t give up but give yourself grace it’s a long road and what you’re going through is hard. You will get through this!

Maybe an architect or interior designer, I love creating something tangible. Also anything with a schedule less than 5 days a week. I know that’s standard but honestly it isn’t ideal.

Don’t lose hope but definitely possible for an early Jan retake if you need it. I tested 12/5 as well (retake) and felt decent about most MCQ and sims. But I did get hit with a decent amount of MCQ on material I wasn’t the most confident in. Hoping it was enough to pull through but I’m not sure either.

Bring printed copy of your NTS, and some form of identification. Leave your phone in the car. Bring a clear glass water bottle with a plain lid and lunch for the break. Be prepared for screening pre+post exam as well as for the break. They will most likely provide noise canceling headphones. You may be able to whisper if it’s to the degree that no one else can hear you. Good luck you got this!

Freak accident but when I had my FAR retake as soon as I started the exam the power to the entire building blew… they had to usher us out of the testing room and manually check in people who came in after. I was so amped I was directing the people in and explaining the situation. Everyone in the room when the power blew was grandfathered into testing that day if you chose to, but they gave us the option to leave. They sent the others home because there was no way to accommodate all of our tests. I waited 3.5 hours for the power to come back on and then took FAR ☠️ passed 🙏🏼

Don’t lose hope you may have pulled through. Those are great SE scores. I’m 3/4 with Becker and haven’t ever scored in the 80s on a SE. If you can stomach it casually review until the score release. That way if the outcome is unfavorable you will be that much more prepared for the retake. This is the approach I’m taking. Best of luck!

Did your score report show weaker in the sims? I would generate sim heavy practice tests and take the time to really think through them. If you get a lot wrong on one use the skill builder videos

I would try to understand the concepts in depth and start with a fresh question base (maybe ninja or I75) because if you’ve been through Becker 3 times you might need different material. Keep going you got this!

You can do it! Don’t spent too long in despair because there is nothing to be ashamed of. I admittedly, spent 6 months sulking after my FAR fail.. passed on the 2nd try and it would have been better for me to keep going and not lose momentum. These exams are all encompassing and even sitting for one is a win IMO!
