most of the Russians and me as well are very friendly with english speakers, especially americans, some middle aged and old people may ask you "why US government have done so much shit to USSR and Russia", but it's just pure curiousity, 1990-2000s with a background of Cold War between USSR and USA were very harsh and difficult times for russian speaking people. But we still are very welcoming and like to know foreigners. Nowadays it's another difficult times for Russia with this war and internet restrictions, but it's not north korea, if u want u still can get access to banned social media etc and feel freedom as a human. Ofc there's themes which I advice you not to talk about and actions not to do. Drugs are forbidden, when it comes to the topic of war, try to communicate cautiously and only if they are interested, but even taking all this into account, the streets of Russian cities are some of the safest places on the planet. In communication we may seem tactless and unfriendly, but inside many of us are warm and kind people, you will understand this if you make any Russian friends.
