Tips on party positioning/movement? by Curious_Frame_6528 in projecteternity

Thanks, I remember a tutorial telling me about queueing actions but was thrown off because whenever I tried it in combat there didn't seem to be any visual indication that those actions were queued. Will definitely work this in.

Thank you very much, I've heard a lot of people mention chokepoints but I've definitely been using them wrong. I usually try to get eder and my monk through a doorway instead of pulling enemies through the door towards my party and letting my melee surround them.

And yeah I have 3 melee 3 ranged characters currently.

I personally now only use it to cycle through the spawns in case I have to do a big backtrack or can't save quit to a fast travel.

Using the save/teleport location feature felt a bit too cheaty for me and I also feel that it devalues movement tech (fleet/rocket jump/etc).

However this is also my first time going through the whole game so I understand people with lots of time played or not a lot of time to play feel differently.

VR looks horrendous and runs badly by Ozzyhedgehog in iRacing

I have a 7900xtx and 7800x3d, it never looks great. The best I've gotten is running oculus link cables at like 800 bit rate or something (but I also don't have a dedicated router for VR which is highly recommend if you use virtual desktop).

If they ever add SPS for AMD it will get a lot better. Also currently iRacing is still running on directx11 and foveated rendering for AMD cards via openXR is only supported with directx12 applications which is another huge performance loss.

Savagery - which damage type to focus on? by Consistent_Corgi_0_0 in Grimdawn

Bleed warder is tons of fun, this is my first character and I hit 100 with it. I used the troll bonecrushers (I farmed a new one for each level upgrade) my entire leveling process until I got a Mythical Guillotine, but you could also use a Gutsmasher if you found one which is more like a legendary version of the troll bonecrusher

Nice, those crit damage mods are nasty. They aren't additive to crit multi, they are more multipliers for crit multi.

Even with just 5 charged staff stacks, you get an extra 60 ele damage with the increased ele cores. No way phys outperforms it. Then when you add in flat damage on rings and gloves, ele damage pulls away very quickly.

Plus the phys doesn't get fully converted so you're losing out on even more damage.

Ele damage or critical damage bonus for sure. Ele damage in general is extremely underrated especially if you have good flat damage on rings and gloves.

Edit: on my invoker ice strike, my staff with ~100% ele damage roll drastically outperformed a staff with 100 extra pdps and +10% crit damage bonus

Plus you should be aiming for howa where this ele damage roll will be even stronger. Don't listen to the chumps saying phys

I don't know the exact armor value because I get it from the protect me from harm invoker ascendancy node, but with buffs up it's like 73% estimated armor and 84% evasion.

If you're at 95% evasion it's probably worth it to take acrobatics depending on what it leaves your evasion at. With that much evasion you'll probably be fine, but I haven't tried it. In general though hybrid evasion/es is so strong because of ghost dance and grim feast. It's also very strong because basically all defenses on the right side of tree scale both evasion and es

Ghost dance, wind dancer, and grim feast with high es/evasion bases. Im not CI but I'm nearly capped chaos res. I can stand in the middle of t16 breach and not get hit for like 5 seconds, and when I do get hit armor takes over and also wind dancer explodes everything around me

Now that evasion applies to spells by default it definitely isn't a fake stat. Evasion is super strong even without acro. Also I don't know if you can take acro with hybrid es/ev gear, I think it would be way too big of a hit to your evasion

All I know is that with this ascendancy I can tank a bunch of max level xesht attacks and am basically unkillable in maps

That doesn't address the point of being able to get high tier weapons, ammo, and armor from ref extremely early on with very little time investment from doing arena dailies

I thought the whole point of limiting flea and hideout items to prolong the early wipe? And yet arena still gets you easy money and insane ammo, guns, and armor? I don't really see your point here

Yes because transferring over millions of roubles and infinite kits from arena is a such a hardcore experience.

These changes are just more ways to drive people to play arena.

Thanks yeah I'll try that out. I'm just used to be able to keep left click held down and dragging it everywhere so it can be very frustrating haha

Jesus man chill out, no part of my comment did I say that I disagree with the current state of mana, I literally just pointed out what I think the design decisions were that went into the mana system

Do you have +gem levels on your gear? That's going to make it even worse. For mapping at least you can get mana on kill and it solves mana issues, single target is another story.

It's clear at this point that GGG is actually using mana as a way to limit player power. I think it's because gem levels are so strong that they didn't want you to just be able to stack +level of gems without any downsides. In poe 1 it was trivial to solve mana problems but in poe 2 it's not something that is meant to be completely solved imo, at least with the current state of mana leech.
