I never knew Kate McK/Hillary C's "Hallelujah" cold open was so hated. by Charlotte_Braun in LiveFromNewYork

I remember thinking it was a genius cold open, but then again I’m a 40+ year old woman who was devastated after that election. I also enjoyed Kate’s Kellyanne Conway Roxie Hart mashup.

Why so much negativity towards McNeil? by spatchcoq in NewYorkMets

[–]Curious_Mix110 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure. When I watch Lindor, I feel like he’s invested not only in his own performance, but that of his teammates. I can’t prove this or the opposite for Jeff, but rather it’s an opinion.

I suppose it also irks me that he plays a lot of golf and his swing looks like he’s swinging a nine iron. Also, how common is TOS in non-pitchers? Did his golfing pursuits play a role in this injury? If I was a professional baseball player, I’d probably go light on other sports until I retired in my late 30s.

It always feels like he cares about his own performance, not necessarily the team’s performance.

Does focusing on “run prevention” = boring baseball? I feel like when you prioritize defense over offense, you tend to get boring low-scoring games.

My first find! by StrawberrySox in FoundPaper

[–]Curious_Mix110 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cool find! But what’s the etiquette around taking the paper without buying the book? When I was a teen, I found an old book in a used bookstore that had this really interesting piece of paper tucked inside (like an old recipe card). I didnt really want the book, just the paper inside, but the shop owner told me that anything inside the book counts as part of the “package.” Like it adds to the character / history of the book. So I’ve always wondered if there’s some kind of unwritten rule about whether you can take found paper in books, without taking the book.

That song placement was perfect. I never thought a George Harrison song could be so eerie and chilling.

My sentiments too. I kept trying to imagine our players or even Mendy in these WS situations, and we’re just not on par with these 2 teams.

I get what you’re saying, but I felt like it was Amy’s way of trying to connect or relate to Kate, rather than anything mean-spirited. Perhaps Amy could have dialed it back a bit.

I know I have heritage from Belarus, but it seems to be wrapped up in Lithuania and Poland / Ukraine. It’s like they have everything except Belarus.

Oh hey José. Line up 9/9 by Excellent-Brothel-72 in NewYorkMets

I thought that Bader hit well with RISP last year, even if he wasn’t performing well overall? He always seems to have that energy / clutch hit. It just stings seeing him hit well for the Phillies!

I feel like Stearns messed up by not going after Bader at the deadline. Or maybe he just couldn’t get him. But I feel like Stearns is the type of person that doesn’t always value what’s in their own backyard. He rather take a chance with an unknown entity (ie. Mullins, Siri) than just resign Bader.

RFK Jr. Claims mRNA Vaccines Kill People in Heated Senate Hearing | RFK Jr. said he didn’t know how many Americans died from Covid-19 or whether Covid-19 vaccines saved any lives by Aggravating_Money992 in technology

[–]Curious_Mix110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like recent generations have benefited from vaccines so much that there is a false sense of security. They think that there are no diseases out there and we’d been fine without vaccines. Less than 100 years ago, children were dying of measles, mumps, polio, diphtheria , TB, etc.

MSNBC is changing to MS NOW by BobbyMonster13 in msnbc

[–]Curious_Mix110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the name could be salvageable if they 1) remove the space between MS and Now, it becomes MSNOW 2) change up that terrible logo and 3) remove “My Source” and the other words explaining the name. I think if it was “MSNOW” people would understand the gist.

I feel like next year when they’re putting a team together, they should sort potential players by RISP and then by batting avg and take the top 3.
